Guess I'm a Dwarf as well. Whoda thunk it.

Nice LoTR analogy, but what about Hobbits? :p

Probably the casuals. Everyone overlooked them/didn't care about them, until the time came for big things to happen.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

But I wish I could point out to him, that even Matt and Craig who he defended as '...who's love of Nintendo is known to be Legendary.' has jumped on the anti-Wii bandwagon in the last 2 years and is making many of the same comments against some of their games and practices where they can. Not to mention downscoring games for petty reasons.

that.

One of the favorite vocab term of the IGN nintendo team is WIGGLE... please try to use it in a positive sentence about the wii?

Besides that I liked his toilken analysis...

Amen!  It's to the point where as soon as I see the word "waggle" in an IGN review I hop over to GameRankings to see what other reviewers said about the game.  IGN used to be my favourite source for reviews but anti-Wii sentiments over there have got me scrambling to find someone else.  Unless it's a "core" game I don't trust IGN anymore.

The original article was TL;DR but I did get through the first few paragraphs before he started the LOTR analogy and I agreed with him strongly.  I was also reading IGN back when it was N64.com and one of the things I always liked about it was although Matt and co. often criticized Nintendo they ultimately supported it through the bad times.

Now the good times are here and they're all crazy-go-nuts!  I can appreciate some complaints about Nintendo's new direction but the tone of the site is so negative in almost every aspect from the biggest editorial feature to the tiniest game review...I think they're going to lose a lot of Nintendo fans in the long run, and they're certainly not going to earn any new fans from the expanded audience!
