Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dantes Inferno demo is almost unplayable...

...after spending 15 hours with Bayonetta.

I didn't think much of Dantes demo when I played it before I played bayonetta but I thought it would make a cool rental at least.  I tried it out now after beating Bayonetta and...wow... Its slow, clunky, cheap, repetitive and controls feel all wrong. Not fun at all...

Anyone that has beaten bayonetta or played it extensively, try out Dantes Inferno demo...let me know if you find this to be the case as well?

I doubt my thoughts about the demo will change after I have played Bayonetta. Like I said, I will rent it, but it's nothing like Bayonetta. I'll take the game as it is, not what it could or should have been.

Just for fun, I guess I'm going to post what I thought about the demo from another old thread. Sorry for the copy pasta (with little edits):

It's not bad. The atmosphere is great, the leveling up sounds interesting with all the moves and stuff you can buy... but it plays just like God of War in the demo with the so little things you have in your hands (sorry guys for the comparison!). I mean, you press X (or send enemies flying in the air for the lulz) and/or then use magic and/or projectiles on some enemies if you have to... Grab them sometimes for something that I don't know what does yet... but that's about it! And quick time events, ugggh! Still hated those in Bayonetta.

Also, I encountered a great game breaking glitch in the demo (two recent demos in a row where that happens, Army of Two: 40th Day and this). I was fighting Death and all of a sudden, when he did his grab move, well, Dante didn't do the animation after I repeatedly pressed B... so we were flying and rotating in space forever. What's funny is that he kept saying random quotes for like 5 minutes, haha (because I thought it was part of the game...)!

...So that's about it. o_O

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Anything compared to something so sexy will always be lacking.....to say the least.

Your distaste is warranted my friend.

I've thus far only played the demo for Bayonetta, but the combat system was much better than that in Dante's Inferno.

Honestly, I find Dante's Inferno and God of War III more comparable, and God of War was overall a lot better than Dante's Inferno. It just doesn't compare well to any of the big hack n' slash games coming out in the near future.

Between Bayonetta and God of War, both shined in their own different ways.

It's God of War, but 1/10th as good. Pretty much.

The demo felt like God of War with less fun.

Didn't like the demo, like the story ect. But the gameplay is just meh. *ticks off list*

haha...yeah, sweaty catholic soldier vs sexy umbra witch. Tough choice.

But yeah, I hear what all of you are saying. Maybe if taken on its own terms, people will find enjoyment in Dantes inferno...but even if one does that, one is clearly more fun than the other as a package IMO.

I'm really itching to play more hack and slash games now that Bayonetta kicked my ass so hard. I'll beat it on hard by the end of the weekend and then I need something else to ride the hack and slash waive.

With ninja gaiden 2 sigma and upcoming god of war 3...it may finally be time for ps3.
