Astro Gaming brings Solid Snake to their A40 gaming headphones.

by Scott Lowe

January 13, 2010 - Despite the hefty price tag attached to them, the Astro A40 Audio System remains a fan and critic favorite in the realm of gaming headphones (Check out our full review). In addition to boasting incredible audible fidelity, the system lends itself to a sizable level of personalization due to the exchangeable speaker tag system, which enables users to swap out the earcup graphics panels with a variety of professional designs or create their own online. Every so often, however, Astro offers new exclusive designs as part of special edition A40 systems, and now through a new partnership with Konami, are offering a special Metal Gear Solid 4 edition of the Astro A40 system.

The new Metal Gear Solid 4 Edition Astro A40 Audio system is available in both white and black variations and comes with one set of four speaker tags in three design sets, including Snake, Abstract, and Scream. The MGS4 Edition headphones can be purchased by themselves or as part of the A40 Audio System that includes the company's Mixamp, which allows expanded connectivity and dedicated audio control for communication and in-game audio. The MGS4 Edition headset costs $199.99, while the full MGS4 Audio System runs at about $249.99.

Like all other A40 configurations, the MGS4 Edition A40s are fully compatible with the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

way to love mgs4 lol

looks amazing, too expensive

Personally I like the Sennheiser PC 350 Gaming Headset. The control pod is perfectly positioned and lightweight.

This Metal Gear Soild 4 (MGS4) Bluetooth Headset is also cool.

Looks alright but way to much.
