Forums - Sony Discussion - Do you expect Modnation Racers to do similar numbers to LBP?

i'm not sure if expect is the right word but i wouldn't be surpised. 3M and take well over a year to do it, sure why not. mario kart wii proves without a doubt there is a large audience for this type of game, now it's just a matter of will anyone notice MNR other then us forum dwellers.

I don't think so, Tim. This is going to be the game that every retailer is pushing alongside eyetoy eyepet as a game for kids. It's both simple and deep, fun for casual gamers and the hardcore.

Has anyone heard whether or not the sixaxis can be used for steering?

This is going to be much much bigger than LBP. LBP is actually a very complex game, and the game mechanics are not easy to learn.

Can't see it doing too great TBH.

LBP has done good numbers down to being heavily reduced in price for over a year. I recall it going for around £12 only 3/4 months after release, not sure if this was done to retailers getting too many copies or not.

Depending when this game releases this year, I can only see it doing 1-1.5m this year and around 2m lifetime.

There are just too many better games being released this year on the PS3 and although there aren't any similar games being released, I can see people spending their money on Heavy Rain, GOW3 and GT5 before Modnation, so it may sell well once it reaches a sub £20 price point.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

You guys are forgetting that the average ps3 owner is age 30, which means they probably have a kid. Not all ps3 owners are looking for "better games", I'm sure a lot of them are looking for quality titles that fit the need.

The beta was pretty shitty, with insanely long loadtimes on everything. The game also appeared to be running at very low Frames, with slowdowns. All the tracks i played were crap at best, and no matter how they were designed they all played the same. The beta was Horrible and i have no plans to buy the game.  I fully expect the game to flop and receive around 6 at best..

A beta is not your chance to play a full game for free. It is an opportunity to provide feedback to the dev to make the game better and find problems that can be fixed. It is a little taste of the game, and is meant to give you an idea of what the game will be like, not what the game will be.

TBD. There isn't a set date yet.

Then I won't make any predictions. If its releasing anytime soon it wont be as successful judging by the latest pre-order chartz.

Then it will released when Gem/sphere is released? then this game had a chance in beating LBP in sales. I am hyped.

i think it's going to be released in april/may.

i predict no more than 200k first week, but this game will have some great legs like LBP...

2M+ First Year.
