Forums - General Discussion - why can't we edit thread titles?

Because I would make it my mission in life to make misleading thread titles and then go back and change them. Blame me.

Just give mods the ability to change them, so people can request a mod correct their title.

People would proberly obuse it. Like what will happen if somone changes the whole thing and its subject. Ever thought of that?

The solution is simple:  Limit editing thread titles to the first 5 minutes of posting.

Honestly, most people make grammar or spelling errors in thread titles and want to fix those.  It doesn't take 5 hours to notice those.

And if someone does abuse it then warn/ban them.  If they're going to pull garbage like that then tell them it's not appropriate or show them the door.

I know that nobody's perfect, but are posters really so lazy that they can't proofread a lousy thread title?

We should all realize the impotence of proofreading.

I have to agree with this. If you read the title before you press send the problem would be fixed. Really not that hard, some people just don't care.

alright what if a thread is updated weekly or daily, and the poster wants to edit it so that all may know?....it would be great mods had the ability to edit thread titles

Why should the poster burden our mod team to edit that hypothetical thread title daily?  Just put "updated daily" in parentheses and be done with it.

I still advocate proofreading.

So, are you telling us that proofreading needs Viagra? o_O
