Don't see your point. It was made by a group of people operating under Sega. Sega oversaw the whole production and published it.

SEGA is a large company. What you're saying is you want SEGA's top people working on it basically? Doubt that would happen with an old franchise like this. It would probably be given to the less talented developpers, like Golden Axe was, which was my point.

Going all hack and slash, 1 player & 3D was a bad move for golden axe.

If they keep Streets of Rage 4 2D with updated graphics obviously then i think it would succeed.

Sega are MASTERS at 2D games for the most part.

I can't understand for the life in me why they don't make games like Sonic and Knuckles 2, Streets of Rage 4, Golden Axe 4, Vectorman 3 & Revenge of Shinobi 2 ect ect (all in 2D) for XBLA/VC/PSN.

They would make a killing in profits because they don't cost much to make but would be lapped up by the hordes of Sega fans out there.

Golden Axe sucked to begin with, don't even bring it into this conversation please.

As for the OP? God I love you, Streets of Rage 2 is in my top ten games of all time. The original Streets of Rage is also pretty awesome (love playing co-op just for the evil ending!), but doesn't quite compare to SoR2.

If they were ever going to reboot the series, it'd have to be in 2-d downloadable format, with Yuzo Koshiro once again behind the music. If you thought he lost his stuff with SoR3, then you should check out some of his newer music.

A new SoR with online co-op, leaderboards, a lengthier game (with no autosaving), and some new techniques would rock.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d
