Forums - Sony Discussion - Is Ps3 now what it should have been on release?

I thought that we were talking about finance theory, not marketshare? If you want to talk about finance theory you can see that Sony is on the verge of making a profit. If you want to talk about market share, you can always talk about how the PS3 is gobbling the 360s up like a fresh pizza and i'm sure that the Blu-ray drive will have a big part in keeping the PS3's sales going for longer than the 360s.

Neither of which is applicable to the discussion we WERE having, but way to avoid the issues.  Have fun conversing with yourself on this one!

However, had Sony not responded to the competition in 2006, PS3 would be in a much worse position right now, and so would the rest of the electronics industry.

There ya go Trio_Zen, Sony had to bite the bullet for the Blu-ray thing to get started and it led to the 3D thing that they are pursuing now as well.  To be a leader, you will have to bite the bullet sometimes.  Cheers

after mgs4 the ps3 was getting cool
uncharted was already released and after mgs4
lbp released and resistance2
and then killzone 2....and u know the story :)

I feel you may have been too harshly treated for stating your opinion with this thread.

I do agree with you in many ways. I feel that the PS3 now is what it should have been at launch in terms of tools and developer relations as well as hardware footprint and cost. So in that respect I agree with you completely.

The only thing I disagree is that the games released now which are fantastic didn't need to have been released at launch as the launch lineup was pretty good anyway and they did get content to us about as quickly as you'd expect. Its only people looking back unfairly in hindsight who choose to believe that the PS3 needed to have games like Gears of War at launch or expect any publisher, even Sony to compete with the freaks of innovation Nintendo.

I dunno, i'm guessing that he thought that me bringing the 360 into it was a low blow.

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not mad, I just see no reason to continue to discuss with you.  The first chance your claims were questioned you didn't try to support them, you made a lame attempt to incite a flame bait discussion.

If you care to have an honest discourse about any subject, I'm happy to oblige, if you want to use catch phrases and snide remarks to prove some childish superiority, discuss with yourself.

@CGI, thanks dude, but I should have known better then to continue with him earlier on.

iv got a feeling the size of the blu ray disc will become an even bigger +. perhaps see a loss in a big exclusive like... (dont quote me or anything im just giving an example.) halo or gears.

the FF series was always on a nintendo console, untill square wanted to make there game bigger, so they went to the CD, which held alot more than the cartridge thing.

maybe the same will happen? just a thought =]

and yeah i bought my 60GB ps3 on day 1, was so happy. i didnt even need PSN at the start. i had motorstorm and resistance to begin with. totally worth it.

@Trios-Zen   If you think anything that i've posted in this thread remotely passes for flamebait then you need to get the sand out of your nether regions, dude.
