Forums - PC - GPU Flash

I know this isn't anything new, but I wanted to alert any VGchartz members who don't know that a new Adobe Flash is available in beta.  This version of Flash uses your GPU instead of your CPU.  Makes running flash videos a lot smoother, especially on my computer with Geforce 260 x2 SLI.

Make sure you uninstall other versions of Flash before using this one.  It's beta, so there is no guarantee it will work.

Will have to give it a shot and see what happens.

Does it work with AMD cards? EDIT: You should probably link to Adobe's site rather than Nvidia's one.

wow I envy you. I wish i have your GPU :D

ummmm, I don't really recommend it yet, while it works great with youtube and the like, it's not so hot for live streams.

I remember seeing a review of it on an ATi card a few months ago and it didn't yield positive results... but then it turned out they didn't have up to date drivers that were needed for it.

What I'm really waiting on is the GPU-accelerated version of Firefox. That'll be great.

I linked to the Nvidia's site because that is where I found it.

It seems to work very well for me on both Windows 7 and MacOSX. When I open maximized streaming videos, it sometimes opens them up in a new window in the background. Other than that, much smoother.
