Don't cry to the mods, ClaudeLv250. This is the only username I've used on here. Capcom only revealed the sales figures 2 days ago: -
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/26733/Capcom_Reveals_Weak_Zack__Wiki_Sales_Talks_Tough_Wii_Market.php
Also from the article: -
16,000 sales of a Resident Evil game and you're wondering why devs are thinking twice? Seriously.............
Hardyhar, duplicate identity or not, you are working so hard at slightly bending the facts that it makes my head hurt. 126,000 for Zack and Wiki is NA numbers only. 16,000 for RE:DC is France only. And what I wanted to reply to initially:
" but you've gotta have a screw loose to think the Wii stacks up against the PS3 or 360 unless you're a huge fan of SD shovelware, or you don't mind only getting access to 2 good games per year."
Well I must have a screw loose since I will take the Wii any day over the PS360, I am not interested in any shovelware (SD or HD) and the Wii has many more games I am seriously interested in just from 2009 than I have time to play (while PS360 have almost no games that interest me even if I look at their entire backlog). And btw (as to the SD aspect), I have a Pioneer Plasma.
And to stay OT: nobody is really abandoning the Wii. This is just the latest TE WIi IZ DOOMEZ spin since the one about people losing interest in the Wii won't sound very effective right after the Wii's best December ever...
Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin
You need to get your facts straight. Dead Space Extraction numbers aren't France only! lol. Here's another article about it: -
9000 copies IN THE US BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 29TH and OCTOBER 3RD. How exactly does that translate to 16,000 worldwide (or any location except France) in January 2010??? You keep going at this numbers game - now you've convinced me you're an alternate identity (Zorrox?), just with a different IP.
I don't own a PS3 nor an X360, but I have friends that do and I have played on their consoles from time to time. So I do know what I am not missing (it's all a matter of taste - I couldn't care less for MW2 for example, even if you paid me to play it). As to the Plasma remark, it was just meant at showing I know what HD can be like (real HD, not console HD)...
I actually find it funny that people get all excited about some of the HD games, when the same people (or their younger brothers) in the next gen will look back on this gen's "HD" games and say meh, why are they all so... brown....
[Added Later]Haha you had me, I didn;t even notice until Claude posted that you were answering my RE:DC answer with a DS:E quote. Good one

Here's another article about it: - The game sold only 9,000 copies in the US between September 29 and October 3, according to NPD sales data. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/60953 Yeah, Wii fans were kicking down the doors of stores in the US to buy that one! The French must have loved it for some reason though cos according to you it sold twice as many copies there. LOL. Even if those Zack and Wiki sales are US only, there's 30,000,000+ Wii owners in the US. 126,000 sales over 2 years for the highest rated exclusive third party game on the system is fucking awful. An attach rate of 1 in 238. You don't own a PS3 or 360, so you have no idea what the games are like. I own a all 3 systems. It's no good telling me you've got a Pioneer plasma when the best your games console can do is 480p in standard definition. You might as well have a TV from 20 years ago. It wouldn't look any different. |
Wow, you're desperate. He didn't say anything about Dead Space, he was talking about Darkside Chronicles in response to what YOU quoted. I'm guessing that was your next cherry picked game to whine about and you jumped the gun.
Also, no one cares about your attach rates and metacritics. That's not what determines which games sell and which ones don't and continually referring to useless aggregate scores only shows that you either don't get it or you're trolling by putting too much emphasis on something that doesn't really matter in reality. If Zack & Wiki salesare so "fucking awful" and if it makes you cry yourself to sleep at night so much, why don't you go out and buy the amount of copies you think it should have sold. For someone who finds the Wii's library "weak" you sure know how to spend a lot of time bitching about it.

The other explanation is that Nintendo release waaaaay more 1st party titles than Sony, and does MS release any first part 360 titles? Even adding 2nd party titles to 1st party titles Nintendo is well ahead in terms of number of titles released. So there is a lot more competition from 1st party titles on Wii than on the other systems, therefore you would naturally expect the 3PAR to be lowest on the system with the highest number of 1st party titles. And how unexpected, the 360 has the highest 3PAR and it has lowest number of 1st/2nd party titles.
High quality 1st and 3rd party games on Wii with a high proportion of 1st party games means Wii owners are going to more evenly spreading their purchasing between 1st and 3rd party titles.
Wii has 50 3rd party titles that are million+ sellers, it has 70 million+ sellers over all, I'd say 3rd parties are doing OK by that metric.

bmmb1 - All you need to do is post a source that show 16,000 is the sale figures for France only and your point is proven. Otherwise, you're just blowing smoke out of your arse. The source I posted just says 16,000 sales. It doesn't say 16,000 sales in France. Just cos the guy saying it is French, I think it's confusing you a little, LOL.
HD games are all "brown"? Just how many have you played? The 275 downloadable titles on Xbox Live aren't all brown and neither are the hundreds of disc based games for the 360. Likewise for the PS3. Of course, if you look at the graphics of games on the Gamecube, then look at the graphics of games on the Wii, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
I have no idea who Zorrox is, but if he was saying that Wii games look awful and third party titles sell poorly, he'd only have been telling the truth. This is backed up by plenty of facts. How many articles does it take to prove this to you? I can find plenty. Here's another: -
| hardyhar said: Goichi Suda, otherwise known as Killer 7 and No More Heroes director Suda 51, claims that third-party titles for the Wii aren't selling in his home land and that only Nintendo is really profiting from its success. Speaking about the sales of No More Heroes in Japan, he told us, "Whilst the sales weren't as high as I hoped, other titles for Wii aren't selling so well either. Only Nintendo titles are doing well. This isn't just because of the current situation in Japan, as this is happening outside Japan." http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=179648 But of course you'll say, "yeah but that article is old!", but you can see by the other article I've already posted how poorly other third party Wii titles have done since then. |

You were saying?
I'm pretty sure you're a troll now. You're digging up old articles that got debunked years ago. Nice try.

Attach rates are directly related to sales, angry kid. If a game sells more, its attach rate is higher. It's simple mathematics. As for Metacritic ratings, the point just proves that highly rated titles don't sell on the Wii. Slap the word "Mario" in the game's title and it'll sell of course, along with first party titles, while developers of other games are wondering "why the fuck did we bother?".
As for No More Heroes, it sold 470,000 worldwide according to VGChartz. I suppose for the Wii that's a resounding success?
