Forums - Nintendo Discussion - More Capcom PR: More Quality Less quantity for the Wii LOL at Sega

Looks like more damage control after the "French guy-gate"

"In 2010, you won't see as many Wii games from Capcom, but the ones we release will be much larger, event-size games. I also expect to see the market dominated more and more by Nintendo releases with fewer games from the major third parties, like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft. Instead, it's a case of the third-party publishers trying to figure out how they can make a return on their investment and maintain profitability. (said in a joking manner) Maybe the secret is for all of us just to adopt a Sega model -- and just stick Mario into every game we make." - Chris Kramer, Capcom senior director of communications and community

Capcom wishes it had a selling giant like Mario.

Jealousy much?

Anyway, If Capcom releases more Monster Hunter Tri's and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom's and less Spyborgs and Dead Rising: Chop Til Ya Drop's and I think I can be happy.

Pixel Art can be fun.

good news hopefully a full Resident Evil is on its way for Wii owners

Talk about putting your foot in your mouth...

With less Wii games from all the big 3rd parties, they will definitely see less money than they have last year. I wonder what they will do on the other consoles in the meantime. This provides the other small teams an opportunity to capitalize on the 3rd party vacancies (but I doubt that will happen).

Other than that, I don't really know what to say. What he said was stupid. Why would they say this with a whole bunch of their games yet to release on this system they are cutting part of their support from......unbelievable. As for Sega, do not criticize them. Mario & Sonic 1 sold 11.5 million, BIGGER THAN HALO 3, their highest-selling published title ever! The second one passed 3.75 million after a few months, and still has sales coming.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

If the Wii doesn't allow for many mature games to sell it's partly because publishers did not support it with mature games to begin with. You need to cater to the mature audience if you want it to stay active.

I don't know about you guys, but, I already pre-ordered Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars and paid in full. I'm looking forward to Monster Hunter Tri and Mega Man 10 for Wiiware whenever it releases.

Resident Evil Mario edition, SF vs Mario

The sad thing is tacking on Mario would probably boost their sales. It is a shame 3rd parties can't find their own success. At least capcom is giving us quality titles this year.

95% of gamers don't know they are noobs, the 5% who do won't be noobs for long

10 titles costing 1 mil each selling 100k copies each or

1 title costing 10 mil to develop selling 2m copies.

They can make more money with fewer titles. Sounds like a plan.

So they're saying their previous offerings werent quality, I assume?

But yeah, as someone said, Monster hunter and CvT set a high bar for them to follow.

or at least they were not "much larger, event-size games..."
