Microsoft has said that Fable 3 will release exclusively on Xbox 360 this holiday, just before the launch of Halo Reach.

Speaking in a press release issued off the back of last night's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Microsoft said:

"2010 will deliver our biggest line-up ever of exclusive blockbuster releases. Kicking off the first-half of the year with back-to-back Xbox 360 exclusives like Splinter Cell Conviction, Crackdown 2, Mass Effect 2, and Alan Wake. And the first content packs for 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' from Activision will be available this Spring, exclusively first on Xbox 360.

"Our holiday line-up of games includes the highly anticipated Fable 3, followed by Halo Reach, which is expected to be THE biggest title of 2010."

The holiday date marks the first time a specific release window for Fable 3 has ever been mentioned by Microsoft, who have previously stuck to the loose '2010' release date announced during the game's reveal last year.

Fable 3 is a continuation of the award-winning RPG series from Peter Molyneux's Lionhead Studios, and will see the player overthrow a dictatorial tyrant and become the ruler of Albion fifty years after the events of Fable II.

it looks like every week or month we will have a microsft AAA title release or xbox 360 console exclusive release. looks good.

The first MW2 content pack is going to be a timed exclusive for the 360? Is that old news?

If it's coming before Halo: Reach, then I doubt that release date we heard for Reach is accurate, since that's not the "holiday" season at all. Unless they're going with just Natal for the holidays I should say, but then again, Fable III is going to use it, so they'll probably release at the same time.

hahaha zelda has nothing over Fable II, introduce Fable III and I may never look at zelda again lol but these are opinions based on me prefering Fable game play, story line and RPG elements. Zelda is just a linear adventure game that restricts you from actually enetering and interacting with the world in the way Fable lets you. You feel pushed along the story, where as in Fable you feel like you are creating the story :)

Anyway WHEN IS THE AMERICAN HOLIDAY SEASON!??? is it in the middle of the year! because thats awesome if it is! Our holiday season in Australia is now! And I will not wait another 12 months for Fable III, 6 months would be grand :D

Let's just hope lionhead fixes the atrocious economy system that was in fable II though.
