Forums - Microsoft - Do you think this cable blocks the 360's hd port?

I bought an hdmi cable from amazon, but when I tried to plug it in I realized that the av cable blocked the hd port?
I've been thinking about buying this cable, but i dont know if it'll be the same, what do you think?
thanks for your time.

when you have the HDMI cable plugged in you don't need the av cable, unless you are running the HDMI directly to the TV and your sound through component system that doesn't have HDMI.

I don't know if that helps, can you describe your setup?

Yes, HDMI carries sound, the only time you need to worry about a separate sound source is if you want to connect the other side of the HDMI cable to a computer monitor that only takes picture.

yup...Hdmi runs the video and sound.

Not true.  If your surround sound system does not have HDMI, then you will need an adapter to get surround sound, and use HDMI.

I just plugged the cable and it's awesome. The picture and sound was mind-blowing.
