Guess i was one of the lucky ones with Homebrew channel that just had it safely removed by 4.2, and didn't brick or anything

 

But electronics are strange like that. Problems are not necessarily persistent, even when it looks like they should be.

I don't think this is related to the hack. I've been having a related problem - green pixels on my screen - and have been reading up about this stuff.

You may just need to get the damn thing repaired.

There are legitimate reasons for using the Homebrew channel, like playing imported games

I wonder if nintendo would agree with you there. Sony and the games developers deserve my hard earned cash.

Considering that you would need to buy the imported games, I'm sure they're okay with that part of the practice
