i know, and its starting to sound funny and freeze, what was the signs yours was getting YLOD?

Just gradually got louder and the fan had to work a lot harder after less time.

ohh dear, im getting the Slim this weekend and backing all my stuff up i think! lol

That is the sign of it starting to go (especially if it beeps as well),  it it keeps on happening get rid of it quickly;) That's what i did with mine after the third time it froze on me, surprised it did not YLOD on me.

ok im scared to even turn it on now haha

do yourself a favour buy a slim and basically use the transfer option before you sell your old ps3, it worked perfectly for me, i lost nothing that way

Did you even try to call Sony? They replaced my faulty PS3 with a refurb even though it was out of warrenty.
