"Launch" you mean people that bought it in Nov 2005 only? My launch one (Dec 2005) lasted over 2 years, less than 3.

actually you dont care really do you... its just a "dig" at the 360...

how many RROD polls threads do we need? and how many of those less than one year are non 360 owners pressing a button.

lock please. trolling.

Why do you continue to call me a troll?

There is no conspiracy. I just wanted to know.

PS: how many of those "Launch" buttons were pressed by 360 owners who have had RROD?

@Kasz

There's no real RIGHT way to word the thread is there? Because it's not the words the matter, it's what isn't written that you both find a problem with, right? Or would it have been better if kowen or seece had made this thread?

No, there are plenty of proper ways to word the poll... you just worded it very poorly... and are looking for data which will have no implication.

No matter what your underlying question is, there is no way for the data to yield any useful information.

As someone with a degree that involved massive stat taking... it's really annoying.

Aside from which, there are a ton of ways your poll could be misunderstood by people.

there are countless rrod survey threads here....

your 1st response to kasz proves this is trolling. do you have a 360? do you want a 360? why do you care? and your poll couldnt prove a thing... doubtless you voted and many other non 360 fans did too.

I actually did have a 360, back when that first Fight Night came out and it lasted less than a year, so I clicked that. Is there anything else you'd like to assume about me?

I'm sorry that I didn't check for other RROD survey threads. I don't mean to throw it in your face. I just like studying people and their responses in regard to "stressful" situations. I'm a psych major after all. I'm not sitting here going "LULZ 360 SUCKS", I'm looking at these numbers and looking at them critically.

As I said to Kasz, you are assuming that you know the question.

Did you know that on most job questionnaires the most important criteria is validity? They don't care if you run up and down stairs, they don't care if you have sleepless nights, or frequent nightmares. They don't care that you get angry easily. They just want to make sure you are telling the truth, and they do that by pairing questions across a scale. However, they never ask you if you lie.

Many surveys are like that. The person taking the survey assumes they are answering an implied question X, when really they are being studied for behavior Y.

No, that's actually not the case.  Those tests actually are testing something more then just consistancy.

They just often mask what they're looking for.  Which is personality typing.  There are SOME questions on their to test if your telling the truth or lying to test consistancy... but that's not actually the main goal.

I'm guessing you've never taken any mid level sociology or psychology of buisness courses... or any sort of statistical course in such a field.

Bought June 2006
Broke May 2007
Broke again December 2008
Alive so far...

i bought my 360 in june and so far no problems there should be another answer "since i bought my 360 everything is fine" - i don't want to start offtopic why this poll feels like trolling.

That's what "Other" is for.

Now that this has been clarified my two year vote should be changed to "other" when/if you do a final tally.

i have a 360 bought it last christmas (christmas 08) and i barely play on it though it still didnt break but i think due to the lack of usage it wont break soon :P

My apologies, it was just an example of having a different goal that the test-taker is not aware of. Sorry that I did not accurately describe the purpose of those tests, but I love the fact that you used them as your little straw man argument.

Keep provoking me and I'll just report you. I'm done explaining myself to people who get uptight about everything. Either respond to the OP or don't. Don't derail my thread again with your antagonistic remarks. Take it to my wall instead.

Report me for what?

Also, you know... I did respond to the OP.  About how it was poorly consturcted and will aquire no useful data no matter what your intention was.  Unless it was to find people who can point out bad polling questions.

It's vaguely written and full of way too many different interpretations to provide any sort of real data.

It lasted for a year, but the only reason was i was playing GTA IV for like 3-4 hrs a day for a week or two uninstalled from my HDD.

"I'm guessing you've never taken any mid level sociology or psychology of buisness courses... or any sort of statistical course in such a field." Everything else is fine. Where do you get off saying that? I'll just assume that you've never taken a class in "tact".

Also, you know... I did respond to the OP.  About how it was poorly consturcted and will aquire no useful data no matter what your intention was.  Unless it was to find people who can point out bad polling questions.

From your point of view.
