Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox as a Tivo?

The problem is that most HD signals are encrypted. The cable/satellite companies such as Comcast aren't going to license their encryption because they want to sell their own cable boxes. Cable card which was supposed to solve this problem is all but dead.

OP just give them some time. its pretty clear Microsoft's hole XBox gaming box is just a start of a hidden agenda for a total multimedia device that will take care of everything from giving the kids a virtual interactive playmate, games, movies, music along with many other things. (eventually)

Yep, i'm a girl

Um, no TV input on the Xbox?

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
