Forums - Sony - Killzone will probably be delayed till 09.

This game is starting to give Shenmue a run for its money (in terms of cost and development hassle, not quality)

To paraphrase Brecht, woe to the console which has to rely on a shooter for system sales.

KZ2 is promising, but it's an FPS. Action games make up maybe 8% of the game market. Sure, a third of 360 owners bought Halo 3, but all that shows is that the 360 market is still the hardcore FPS crowd, not gamers in general.

The PS3 is not doomed. It's doing just fine, considering its price tag and its role in Sony's expansive portfolio.

I can't believe how many people are still buying PS3s based on future releases. That just seems like you're setting yourself up for disappointment to me.

Did anyone honestly think that Killzone 2 would make it in 08? We have seen nothing but alpha builds since E3.

MGS4 will hit 2nd quarter 08, Prolouge will be out in 08 to satisfy GT fans, Little Big Planet will hit in 08 as well. So for me, 08 will be busy year for me!

Three games? Seriously? I don't own a PS3, and even if I don't when MGS4 comes out, I might borrow/rent one for two or three days -- however long MGS4 takes for me to play through it. But it won't keep me busy beyond a single playthrough.

Three games is all I need. Metal Gear also has online play, so I'll enjoy that for some time.

NOTE: Metal Gear Solid 4 may be delayed, but Metal Gear Online is still stated for release in the 1st Quarter 2008, even on the Konami website.

I guess I'm a little more hardcore than that.  I'm juggling three games right now on my Wii, two of which I'm using regularly online.  And I'm still psyched about next week's huge Super Mario Galaxy release, the impending Super Smash Brothers release, and will gladly catch up on Z&W and Bwii when I get a chance.  I only own 16 games for it right now, but by next March I will probably own at least 25.

I dont see it being as big of a loss....FPS's are a dime a dozen and in between now and the time KZ2 comes out there will be plenty of FPS's to hold people over on the PS3. I know people believe KZ will be a AAA FPS(which is yet to be seen) but I dont think that game is a huge selling point for the PS3. There are many other games from other genres that will be great I am sure.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

You must have some pretty causal playing habits then.  Three games are usually lucky to last me a month unless they're some heavy RPGs or a sports franchise mode actually worth playing.

It will probably be delayed to Q4 '08 which would be a smarter release date anyways.

Q4 08 for Sony is Jan-Mar 2009. Q1 09 is Apr-Jun 2009.

konnichiwa, what's the source of these news? All I see is a forum post where there's a link to another forum post where you (or someone with the same nickname and avatar) say something in dutch. What's the real source behind these news?

A insider of Guerelli mentioned it I posted it on that thread because I was not sure, a Freelancer confirmed my news.

I had to edit this:   I dont think we will get any news from Guerrilla anytime soon on the delay

PS3 reminds me more of N64 every day. Big big hype, so so sales, delayed delayed games.

If it can copy one other attribute of the N64 - totally awesome, best-in-genre video games, I will buy one.

Why not? I know that GT5 is going to be epic. Also, if you get one now, you can get the older titles at a discounted price.
