Forums - Gaming Discussion - I thought most ps3 and 360 owners hate motion controls

There are 2 camps. Those who understandably were disappointed with the pre M+ Wiimote, and those who are flaming a-hole fanboys.

Motion is the future, it always has been even pre-Wii. Those who hate on motion are dumb cavemen. At the same time the Wii is quite imperfect.

The rational response is to be encouraged by the Wii and hope for further advancement from Natal and the Wand. If Sony or MS do it well and ship good SW I will buy either in a heartbeat. However people always feel it necessary to defend their choices. Dual analogue is a bastard child of broken control which has hampered gaming for years. There have been far better interfaces since the 70's. It deserves to die ASAP and anything that speeds that up is a boon to me.

As more video and articles about the new motion control addons to the ps3 and 360, it seems like more people are being very hypocritical.

I remember how when the Wii first came out and those same people said they hated it, yet were the same people to try and like it then hate it again (its like wtf). Some people were honest and admitted that they like the control but not the games for the system.

Next thing we see are despisers of the same motion control loving the new motion controls coming. Its one crazy world.

I completely agree with you. In fact, I'd like to thank you for making an account so you could create this thread. I was extremely angered by MS and Sony when they announced motion controls.Check this thread out, I made it when Natal and Wand were first announced: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=75422

I laugh everytime I see people talking about the Wand or Natal becoming game changers when they all mocked Wii for it's controls.

Thank you for the link. Saved me for having to look too hard for all the hypocrisy. Am pretty sure there was some b4 this thread too!

It's funny to see people go back and eat their words a matter of days after they have said them.

I dislike motion controls on the Wii because of it's inaccuracy, and will continue dislike motion controls on the PS3 or 360, however, this does not mean I won't try it if given the chance, just as I gave nintendo a chance to convince me that motion controls are good enough beyond the initial gimmick...so far Nintendo have failed to convince, perhaps Sony or Microsoft can convince me but I don't have high hopes XD

Wii motion is certainly lacking pre-Motion +. But the IR is huge and I think makes the Wii a great controlling platform.

I'm with the OP. It's a nice try to save yourselves and some of the posters are in the right claiming games. Though the real bashing of Motion Controls started day 1 of the Wiiremote announcement. Well before ANY GAMES WERE ANNOUNCED. That's who's being targeted. If those in question waited for a game to try out. Then yes they would be justified. Many of those people know that know ones going to dig through posts that old making it "safe" to reverse accusation.

Though it is still pointless pointing it out. In the end hypocrisy is hypocrisy. Those who are certainly guilty will have a blind eye towards the situation. As it is now that MS/Sony are getting onboard those who voiced MS and Sony words back then are still voicing the words of their gods.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

hey for all you ps3 people, sony does have sixaxis motion control but it just is a bust. i know like 50 people who play ps3 games and none prefer it.

Their is a big difference with motion control (Natal) and a controller that uses motion control (Sixaxis) and a controller with an extension which both use(Wiimote combo and PS# Wand combo

some people were/are hypocritical about this, so what? happened to me before and probably happened to you as well

I'm very fond of the concept of motion controls, but I feel they still need to mature quite a bit.

When I was playing some Wii games and while watching the presentations of PS Wand/Gem and Natal I noticed quite some nasty input lag, which most definately would spoil the experience to me (I'll still give Sony's version a try), so I personally don't expect to really be able to enjoy the input method until next gen or the gen after that.

Well, in my opinion, I don't really like motion controls at all....

But, people who do like motion controls and are between buying a wii or a PS3 in my case....

If they get that Ps3, they'll probably end up in a game with me eventually that doesn't involve motion controls, and that benefits me and the ps3 community I play...

So let's do this thing...Motion it up

Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

I never cared for motion controls and the only game that offered a near perfect experience was RE4 on the Wii. Everything else I couldn't care less for. If they make it usable with RE5 then yea I may use the PS wand, but as it stands, no I don't care for motion controls or any other gimmick unless they bring the Virtual Boy back!

Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)

I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/  hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.

I agree. People's opinion on things should never change.

How about the opinion NOT change, for fanboy console war reasons?
