linux ubuntu.

it's fast, it doesn't eat resource and stable.

it can do everythign windows 7 except direct x 10 games
yes it can do direct x 9 games :p

If you're going to ask on an internet forum, you're mostly just going to get techy geeks who defend stuff like Linux and Windows XP because they are popular for customization and 'alternative applications' (aka applications Windows doesn't support).

However, for stability, its been proven both Windows Vista and the new Windows 7 are MUCH more stable than Windows XP or Linux. As well as having a TON more features and pretty much being idiot proof. Whereas you need to have some technical knowledge to use previous versions of Windows and of course Linux.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Amiga O/S

Whichever OS you need it for.
Linux for technical
Windows for games
OSX for being hip.

windows 7, as for why can anyone say dynamic resource allocation.
windows xp is stable but unfortunately there are too many exploits on it now, and problems are cropping up all the time, as for macs its a great os but mostly used for graphic works, any self respecting graphic artist will not use a microsoft os for it, linux unfortunately its not compatible enough.

Currently i have to say Vista, well i know it's the same thing as XP but i used Vista longer so that's why. I do want to upgrade to 7 soon.

Depends what you means "best". As for the OS itself, Ubuntu is definitely more functional and stable than any Windows, the problem of Ubuntu is the very limited compatibility, but that's not a problem of the OS itself

Welll According to stat sites 2-6 percent of PC User use Linux as an OS

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!

Interesting topic. I'd say in the Windows category, Windows 7 and XP are the best. Windows Vista was just too unstable and a resource hog. Windows 7 is like... XP and Vista had a child, and you have the beauty of Windows Vista, yet the stability and smoothness of XP.

But I agree with a lot of what's been said here, all OSes have their purpose.. Except for the 4+ versions MS makes of Windows, I find that retarded.

slackware, beacuse i like things that are a pain in the ass.
