You can do everything you can with a gold account except play online.

There are two games you can play online with a silver account though and thats the original Gears of War and Halo 3 so if you have either of those games definitely check out the online. I think there are more games but those are the only two I'm sure of. Oh and you can only play the social playlists on Halo 3 with a silver account but those are really fun too so its ok.

What about exclusive games or exclusive demos? Also, you should get one for DLC, mandatory content installs, and optional installs to reduce load times.

iirc there are no mandatory installs on 360, only on ps3, which has a mandatory hard drive.

I heard a rumor that there might be one for ff13, but I doubt it. A mandatory install is prohibited by MS, i think.

The keyword is content (Forza Motorsport 3 for example) on the second disk.
