They wouldn't let a newb like me join.  Maybe doing something pro bono.

Well they have a campus set up just waiting for you... I mean why else would they take a picture of their new EDD campus and put it in a place where you would see it to post it up on Vgchartz?! I say its fate... but you have to accept your destiny.

I was actually just looking at their openings in EDD.  There are a couple I could possibly squeeze into, a couple online services positions and such which my current job would apply to.

And there are currently 51 Natal related job openings.  They are really betting big on this thing.

I'll send in a good word for you if Major Nelson responds to my email!

51 jobs online + people moving across sideways within the huge entity which is Microsoft is quite big really. That in itself represents about $5M-7M per year in operating expenses just for those jobs.

You know you should probably work in the EDD, if they can give you a job where you can express your passion for gaming and Natal then I say go for it. Also according to www.glassdoor.com their work/life balance is pretty good too. Oh and you'd probably be able to play Halo in your lunch hour.

Tease.

That's good news, but im sure Natal will be a great control.

Well i thought this was pretty obvious.

like kowenicki said....

And thank god it's an add-on and not a replacement.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

Some games will be all Natal, some games will be all controllers, some games will be a little bit of both.

I though that was obvious.

of course it was never going to replace the controller... it is an add on, an additonal way of controlling certain types of games.

did anyone think otherwise?

Good news indeed. I really am excited to see what happens with it, PLEAAAAASE give us good software M$!

Incidentally I agree 100% with what he said about the controller. It replaced the SNES for me as my all time favorite just last year.

I've said this a million times. Natal is not meant as a replacement of current controls, but as an add-on to current mechanics. Sure, it can track your full body and some games will make use of that only. But natal is perfect for the controller/motion combination, because your hands are still free when using Natal.

Holding a controller is not a problem, and you can still make some movements to be added in game. You can for example replace the throw of a grenade with a motion instead of a button. Or anything else that actually give more options in the gameplay since more buttons on the controller can be freed.

Head tracking in shooters might be possible. Don't know. Or in maybe mirror's edge, where you move your head down a bit, to show where your feet are.. Simple stuff like that.. Or even talking to the game, since it has voice recognition. Instead of clicking a yes or no button on screen, simply say it.. Or in an RPG, nodding a yes or a no instead of clicking something.. Or create a game that reacts according to the expression on your face. Imagine Mass Effect, and according to the expression on your face shepard will react in a different way to the character he's talking to.. That might be a bit too much.. xD lol

Would be awesome if you're playing Halo Wars as another example. Simply say "all scorpions move to coordinates xxx xxx". Or simply say "all scorpions" and then click with the controller where they need to go, since that might be easier than selecting them with the controller? Idk, I'm just making stuff up now, but the potential is endless.

They will need to use it wisely though, instead of actually doing weird things like that Burnout demo..

Truth does not fear investigation

Endear already used voice recognition for orders and such... So the tec is already there to do it.. Ensemble did a traditional style rts though.
