Forums - Microsoft Discussion - This needs to be repeated. Shadow Complex is incredible.

One of my favorite Xbox Live Arcade games. Bought it the day it came out and it was really worth the full price I paid for it, I recommend to anyone that has Xbox Live.

I really fancy this game.

Is the exclusivity on this similar to previous Summer of Arcade titles like Braid, where it'll eventually release on PSN like 18 months later or whatever?

Otherwise I'll have to wait until the gen is almost over because I can't afford a second console right now.

I'd imagine it's the same status as Gears of War because a few months ago somebody posted some job listings Microsoft had that were dealing with working with and maintaining a good relationship with Epic on the Gears of War and Shadow Complex franchises.

Yea. That's why I got it also. I was hesitant to spend $15 even though I enjoyed the demo. But ten dollars was my weak spot. I suggest everyone buy it while it's still on sale! :)

Why is everyone so hesitant to spend $15 for a fantastic 10-hour game with great replayability???

Actually I only got 5 hrs and 4 mins out of it. Doubt i'll touch it again, at least not for a good while with such a huge slate of games. Still worth it though!

Most likely just because it's a downloadable title. Some people just aren't comfortable spending that much without getting an actual disc.

F . . . five hours???  Seriously???  How???  Be honest!

You know apon completion it tells you how much time you played the game? Mine was five hours and 4 minutes which is only a little below average. According to the reviews it lasts anywhere from 6-8 hours. But come on, it's got an achievement for beating the game in under 2 hours having found every item. It's not made to be extremely long. That doesn't count the proving grounds though, but I tried the first one and didn't really like it so it's not something I'll be playing. I didn't 100% the game btw and the fact that I just always followed the blue path without finding where I'm supose to go myself made the experiance much shorter then it would have been if I had explored the world myself trying to find where to go, if maybe that's what you did.

I took my time and went for the completionist achievement my first playthrough and it took me over 10 hours.

Absolutely agree with the thread title, Shadow Complex is incredible.

Well don't you think its kind of disingenuous to talk about how short the game is when you didn't even try to get the full experience out of it?

For the record, that achievement is for speed run that is only possible with some shortcuts, creative use of equipment and 100%-completing the game beforehand.  Metroid Prime can be speed ran in 1:24, but those that get the most out of it will play it for a good 25 hours.

I couldn't agree more! Great game. My favorite SNES game (Super Metroid) along with my favorite PS1 game (MGS). It doesnt get much better than that. Now im working on my Completionist achievement. I picked it up on sale last week also.
