The PSX RPG that really need a remake is Chrono Cross. Because it was admitted by Squaresoft to be rushed and incomplete. Based on them focusing on two other games at the same time, Final Fantasy VIII and Xenogears.

While Chrono Cross was still one of the best RPGs on the PSX, it turned out to be only 3/4 complete and not as good as it could have been. A remake could make it one of the best RPGs ever.

If Star Ocean 1 and 2 can get a remake for the PSP, this game should also get one. This is my 3rd favorite PSOne RPG (Xenogears is obviously #1 and Star Ocean being a close second).

 

Edit: And if the remake gets enough buzz, maybe a sequel on the PS3 would come out of it.

those are enhanced ports not remake's

hell is it even possible to remaster a PS1 game on PS3!?.. they would have to render everything in full 3D, remaster music, get VA's, update the battle system ext, the work they would have to do with LoD remaster.... they mightest well just do a sequel.... Remakes should hold purpose, if it doesn't add anything except better graphics then leave it alone.... let classics be classics dammit

If they remastered it for the PSP (remastered games should be a major staple IMO), it wouldn't be as difficult which is what is being done with the first Lunar game. The character models in LoD definitely did not stand the test of time and the music in the game was never that great to me. But a true sequel would be ideal.

no no no ..... remastering on PSP is different than on PS3, there are lots of things that are exceptable on PSP but on PS3. Lunars remake is fine on psp but if they decided to same thing on PS3 it would be critzed to hell for not looking the rest of the HD JRPG's.... so LoD was remade for PS3 it would have to be completely redone

Since people bring up remakes here is a list of games for remakes and/or sequels:


LoD, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Valkyrie Profile (PSP one with just CG's thrown in isn't enough), Chrono Cross, FFVIII (yes I said it, I loved 8 more than 7), Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Soul Reaver, Parasite Eve (first one only), Legend of Mana, Kartia, MGS1, RE trilogy with RE4's gameplay, Dino Crisis 1 and especially 2, Breath of Fire Series, etc.
That's what I got immediately off the top of my head.

Uhhh that's why I said it should be remastered on the PSP instead of the PS3. They could do it faster and cheaper on the PSP and maybe enough buzz could be generated from the remastered PSP version to warrant a full sequel on the PS3.
