Forums - Sony Discussion - Which PS2 RPG Should I Play Or Finally Finish?

If you want to do the best 2 first, Dragon Quest VIII followed by Final Fantasy X.

If you want to save them for last, do them last.

Personally, I'd skip Suikoden IV because its just not worth it. Just my opinion. (And yes, I'm a major Suikoden fan and played it all).

dragon quest and/or final x. But I would also recommend suikoden V which is not on your list but probably my most favorite RPG on PS2.

I'm 30 hours in on Suikoden V, but I figuredc I should play IV first since that's the first game in the storyline. You're right it is a great game though.

Suikoden 4 is the worst in the series also one of the worst RPG on PS2, and its not story related. So I would finish 5 and then play any other in the series, but not 4 ;).

Of those, you should play FFX, Star Ocean 3 and Suikoden IV, and then really complete V...in fact, make that your priority

Yeah I want to play Suikoden V, but I figured it would be better if I finished Suikoden IV first, since I heard it was kind of a let down.

It's the worst Suikoden, yes, but also better than a lot of RPGs, so yes, it's pretty much worth finishing, even if it's not connected

Valkyrie Proifle 2: Silmeria First and foremost, its the most beautiful game graphiclly on PS2 available.

Then Star Ocean: Till the end of Time, a very good JRPG from Tri-Ace.

And lastly Final Fantasy X, that game did alot right for what it was.

OH and STAY FAR AWAY from DQ8, god...

Lol that's what my brother says, but I hate doing things out of order. I wasn't even planning on buying it until I bought Suikoden 1 on the PSN and decided to buy all of them.

That's kind of up to debate.  I'd say there's plenty of PS2 RPGs better than Suikoden IV AND V.  Not to mention he could be playing Suikoden I-III instead.

You should focus on 2-3 and 5, they are soooo awesome. The first one is good also but a little short.

Lol I liked DQ8 after I got the fourth party member. Before that the pacing of the story was really bad. Wish I didn't lose my memory in my college dorm.....
