Forums - Microsoft Discussion - For all the PS3 and PC owners that complain about 360 "console" exclusives

You're making a twisted argument which doesn't work. People don't bitch at Microsoft for these "exclusives", only at the people who call them exclusives.

Do I think L4D2 deserves to be called a 360 exclusive? Hell no... Does that mean I would prefer Microsoft to buy it as an exclusive? No, again. No contradiction there.

Took the words right outta me. This topic honestly sucks.

And why the hell doesn't the OP reply to anyone's post or continue on about his point?

well i find it funny when ppl state that a game like left 4 dead is exclusive when i have it on steam and i play the game and not have to touch a 360 to play it.

if its on more than one platform its a multiplat and that what left 4 dead is so its multiplat, its not on the ps3 thats true but that still doesnt change the fact that i can still play the game and no 360 is required it aint rockey science. The same thing applies for ff14 heck even most ps3 fanboys dont consider that a ps3 exclusive. The fanboys that mostly use this "console exclusive" logic are mainly 360 fanboys.

I forgot to mention the four or five $5 Burger King games are listed in the exclusive list. Those just make me laugh.

I hate to break it to you, but Big Bumpin' was the best arcade-style game of this entire generation. Sorry you missed out.

Any serious gamer would own both HD consoles. I don't bother with PC, my Acer Aspire 6530G which cost more than my Elite and Slim combined can barely play any newish game at a decent graphical setting. I'd gladely play Mass Effect 2 on my 360 + leather couch + HD TV + 5.1 surround sound than slouching over a keyboard sitting a 1 feet away from the monitor. The experiance is just not the same.

Probably cause you bought a freaking Acer Aspire. You can't damn a gaming platform because of your inability to make informed purchase decisions.

Also it's really not hard at all to connect a computer to a TV and use a wireless keyboard and mouse or gamepad to experience the game the exact same way you would with your consoles but with much higher resolution and better graphics. Seriously a toddler can do it. If you can hook your consoles up to your TV you can hook your PC up.

You know what would be awesome? If the "platform" didn't shift under your feet all the goddamn time. When I want to play an Xbox 360 game, I put it in my 360. When I want to play an SNES game, I put it in my SNES.

I don't spend days worrying about which ridiculously expensive piece of hardware I need and then additional hours trying to get the fucking PhysX to work properly. I don't go around the internet looking for tips on how to run older games that won't even load anymore without a hundred layers of fan-made patch bullshit.

I just play.

I didn't buy the laptop to game but seriously for that kind of money I would've expected it to at least match 2005/06 console specs. The only thing it's lacking is a decent graphics card but being a laptop they are not as simple to upgrade. Also I'm talking costs here too. Yeah I can fork out hundreds of more pounds for extra accessories, have a big ass tower, printer, scanner etc next to my TV with loads of wires cluttering the place up or I can fork out more and go completely wireless....no a toddler can't do all that, it's a big waste of time and money, needs upgrading every six months, needs TLC (disk defragmenting, virus scans, downloading and installing updates etc etc). Count me out. PC's are great for strategy and MMORPG but for everything else I'd rather a dedicated gaming platform. I have tons of console exclusives that I'd much rather play over PC exclusives and even if they did come out on PC, it would take a monster Alienware esque PC to run it.

A game on multiple platforms is a multiplat (or a console exclusive depending on how much you actually care), not an exclusive.

Final Fantasy 14 is a multiplat or a console exclusive.
Gears of War is a multiplat or a console exclusive.
Left 4 Dead 2 is a multiplat or a console exclusive.

If you don't like the truth... Then i lol in your general direction.

And the markets are different. Odds are, if someone is a heavy console gamer, they won't own a powerful enough PC to play the games that are also on ther PC.  So, for all practical purposes, the game is exclusive to one console.  It all depends on the market, and it shouldn't be a big deal either way.

I think what he is referring to are PS/PC fanboys who claim that a 360 isn't worth owning because it barely has true exclusives. Which is in fact false. The 360 has less true exclusives but the way that fanboys exaggerate, you'd think it is a lot less. Not to mention that many 360 exclusives are quality games.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_360_games

360: 119 true exclusives

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_games

PS3: 160 true exclusives

Care to also list he complete list of Indie games for the 360, and the PSN games for the PS3?  There are a LOT more games that are just for the 360 than what you listed there.  One of the best games of this year, "Miner: Dig Deep" would be one of these.  To exclude these games is to not do the 360 justice.

"Console exclusive" is just stupid. If it's on a PC it's not exclusive, it's a multiplat game.

Awesome.  So someone with doesn't have a PC, or the console in question, is able to play the game then, right?  Left 4 Dead is open to those who only own a PS3, right?

Many funny, mis-informed posts about PC gaming here. For the record, I play from my livingroom couch on a 1080p TV with my gaming PC. I also use a 360 control pad. Or mouse and keyboard. Or both. I've played Gears on my PC with a pad, and L4D2, and Fallout 3. By comparison, I used mouse and keyboard for Mass Effect (it was much better). Again, all from my sofa.

And Torchlight worked perfectly on my PC, unsurprisingly.

So, when you want to read email on your gaming PC, do you order everyone out of the living room so they don't invade your privacy?
