Forums - Sales Discussion - How do you personally advertise/promote games?

Sometimes when you really like a game, you try to find your own way to spread the word around.

I remember when visiting Gamestop, I would always move Punchout and other games in front of the shovelware on the shelves. Whenever I hear people talking about a certain game, I try to casually mention another lesser-known title that could appeal in a similar manner.

My sig isn't much, but I like the countdown I have going until the No More Heroes 2 release. Word of mouth has definitely helped games a lot (Valkyria Chronicles anyone) so it is effective. I just want to know how ya'll do it.

I go out on the street corner with a sign strapped to my chest saying "Is all lost?" and have in my left hand a copy of SO4: The Last Hope

lmao patapon, that was crude yet classic... though i think Outlaw would agree with you and might do that to...

OT: Yes VC is a star among them this gen thanks to talking about it alot, keep it up it should go well Savior. i think im gonna do the same for WKC... though given its notice and praise of late, that might not be needed on my part.

You don't unless you are a tool.

I can't say I contribute much, but I try to recommend games to friends and family.
Stealth dropping games into peoples shopping baskets works really good as well.

When I am at gamestop or best buy if some people are asking the employees about a game genre, or the customers are hesitating between games, i do come in and tell them that from my experiences they shoumd buy this specific game.

For example Iwas at gamestop last week and a couple was hesitating between warhawk and Ratchet ToD i gave them the advice of getting ratchet.

Or if some friend got a new console i am going to tell them what are the must-have titles.

you troll

I would tell my friends of a game I liked, especially if it is a lesser known game.
