Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360/ Computer monitor connectivety question

My nephew just got an Elite for Xmas and he wants to hook it up to his computer monitor. I have a 360 set up on my monitor with a 360 vga cable I got off Amazon a while ago but I'm looking to hook him up a little different. I have the audio worked out for him, it's the video end that needs a solution on the cheap. I was thinking of using HDMI with this adapter from Monoprice: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041902&p_id=2029&seq=1&format=4#feedback. The thing that I'm a little unsure of is that the DVI port on his monitor is dual link and this adapter is for single link. I looked around for this same type of adapter but for dual link and there didn't seem to be as many available. I did find this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002JCQVW8/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001OBZ9OQ&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=00EJSM76DJJMMR81AS50 but the lack of user reviews has me feeling a little skeptical. I guess what I'm really asking is if I can use the single link adapter on the dual link monitor. Thank you.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

I found out that the monoprice adapter will work. Reason being that hdmi does not support dual link resolutions. Thank you to everyone that wanted to respond but didn't.
