I imagine Gamespots decision to award PS3 GOTY to DS over UC2 will stir some passions.

 Personally, I do think DS deserves the win for bringing together the action and RPG genre together so well, with such incredibly satisfying gameplay that is consistant, deep and fun. The daring multiplayer aspects and incredible atmosphere seal the deal.

 However, UC2 is still an incredibly good game with some of the best GFX on any platform, even  high end PC gaming, good cinematics, fun characters and was definately the favorite going into this years round of GOTY awards.

 So whats your take?

Demon's Souls!

Didn't play Demon's Souls so far, but I'm always happy when a (relative) underdog beats a blockbuster franchise. :) Well, only if it's really a quality title - obviously - but from what I've heard and seen, it should be deserved.

/edit: Anyway, I'm gonna vote "Either deserved the win", because Uncharted 2 is a really great game, and I don't want to push it down just because it's more popular.

Demon's Souls deserved it, its the most innovative game of the year.

Well, I liked Demon's Souls, though not overly impressed. I liked the King's Fields games better overall. I never played Uncharted 2. I guess I can't answer in this poll.

Nah. Uncharted 2 is just a superior game overall.

Interesting take, but I think looking at recent GOTY and PS3 GOTY results this is going to look like more of an unexpected outlier than anything else.

Still, the big time DS fans should be happy.

Having played and plated Demons soul and we all know a good 60 hours goes into plating demons soul Uncharted 2 is 10 times better than demons soul. Theres not much of a story in demons soul and graphics ain't that good. Gameplays great and replayability is awesome but Uncharted 2 has so much more

Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls are probably 2009's most monumental games. Both are great choices!
