superchunk said: wow, that was a great deal. That is capitalism at its finest.
You weren't ripping anyone off. You were providing a service where they could get the product they wanted from the comfort of their PC at the price they were willing to pay for it.
Anything you buy, unless directly from the manufacturer, is marked up by some middleman. In this case, you were the middle man. Your customers just were not willing to hunt for a better price and were willing to pay what you posted it for. Congrats.
Now I know how to get better prices on stuff. Buy it cheap somewhere and sell on Amazon for tons. :) |
I understand it is capitalism, but sometimes things like this just make you feel scummy. Nothing legally wrong with it, but it's like selling people carbon credits that you pulled out of your ass. I wouldn't feel right selling those, but people are willing to pay for them
Also, I bought Zack & Wiki for $8, sold it for $22 over a year later. Too bad I didn't buy up ToysRus' rather large stock at the time.
e-bay probably would have been a better place to sell these though, as Amazon takes a 15% commision on videogames, so that was a pretty big chunk, but I was being lazy and I figured ~$10/each was enough profit for my small waste of time.
