Forums - General - Lockerz.com is a scam!

Alright everyone knows about Lockerz right? Well I was skeptical at first but I ended up redeeming a prize and I actuslly got it.
I just stumbled onto this site, and it's funny because it's sole purpose is to prove that Lockerz is a scam and people don't really get their prizes.
Even though I'm sure there might be hidden agenda's, fact is it atually does work.

I sense sarcasm.

Yea.. I'm not sure what he meant by that.. I'm just saying, it's funny because they are all worked up on a lost cause.

I agree with you. It is pretty funny in a weird way.

It must be a scam, as far as they will make more money out of you than you will get from their site. There's no other way it can work.

The question is in what way they earn money. I haven't seen a definitive answer, but I imagine some combination of on-site advertising, getting you to sign up to offers you don't want, selling your personal details to advertisers, giving away only limited quantities of stuff and even then only stuff marketers actually want you to have (free samples kind of thing). And it must be set up so the effort it takes to earn 10 points worth of stuff costs them far less than 10 points worth of revenue to deliver.

So, it may not be a scam, but it's not something for nothing.

I didn't register for the website, but I can explain how they make money, and how they (should) be paying you:

Its called Affiliate Marketing. There are many ways that net-based businesses try to acquire users through standard means, such as putting banner ads on websites, video ads, and Cost-Per-Click ads which pay only when a user clicks the ad.

Then there are affiliate offers - they pay out only when a user signs up to a service. These kinds of offers are worth far more than standard offers, usually in the area of $1-$300 depending on what the user is getting.

Websites like Lockerz, I assume, generate these offers among other things, and promise to give the user a cut of the revenue they earn. On some sites, its very legitimate, but on others it seems to be really questionable like Lockerz.

If you want actual money, then there are other sites that pay better:

This one should be very similar to Lockerz, but they actually pay out.

Kind of difficult to get money, as you have to read ads. If you get a few people to sign up under you, it can be a decent money generator.

If anyone is interested: I am building my own system like these two. The difference is that all the money earned can go towards charities - so you could sign up for a survey website, and donate the $1-2 to a charity.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Pyramid schemes.

Yes and no. The best way to earn money is through getting others to sign up, but you can still earn money without anyone - it just takes a bit longer without it. InboxDollars has a similar program, but you can earn a bit more prior to signing up others.

Pretty much ...

Pyramid Schemes are (actually) really good for the people who get in early, but odds are pretty good that any pyramid scheme is "maxed out" by the time you hear about one.
