Premium PSN Avatars Arrive

December 22, 2009 - After years of complaining and a recent IGN editorial chastising the company, Sony is pumping out more PlayStation Network Avatars today. Fourteen LittleBigPlanet-themed premium avatars (see: they'll cost you) will be arriving on the PlayStation Store today during the weekly update. The trinkets are listed below and will run you 49 cents each, although there are bundles ranging from 99 cents to $1.25. No word on the bundle breakdown or when we can expect more avatars.

Its not stupid cause if you read some of the comments some people are happy about it so some people were hoping for it plus = money for Sony.

Its a handful of avatars that you DONT have to pay for.  Sony's not forcing you to buy them.  Its there for those that wish to purchase them.

Next, indeed. cause I like how Sony keeps randomly bringing in new features.  So what will Sony bring in next? hmmm and whether these new features appeal to any of us or not you cant complain with more options =)

I actually like this move by Sony. These are just like Premium Wallpapers, neato but not necessary. The only person who can say this is worth it is YOU.

I wont buy a premium avatar because Im perfectly content with my retarded skull I have now. This isnt a ripoff or anything else, I just do not see the need for it.

for now ^_^

he's absolutely right, Sony's copying MS's business model - I don't like it, they should give us this stuff free, it's not like it costs money to make.
