Since when did the 360 decide to support 3D??

Since about 2 weeks ago. I've been playin Avatar on my Samsung 3D ready TV using stereoscopic glasses using my 360 and it looks amazing. PS3 can do it too with that game. It has nothing to do with console hardware itself but game programming and other hardware involved like TV and glasses.

Many people purchased their HDTV's for these new consoles/blue-ray recently. Almost all of those tvs would not be able to support 3D anyway. 3D requires 120hz + from source, where most 120/240 tvs take in the exact same 60hz source and internally up it to 120/240.

As of right now, I know some of the later model DLP tvs can and do support from source 120hz and LCDs are on their way to that as well (some have already started). As far as plasmas go, I donno.

This is correct. Here is alist of TVs that are 3D ready. Not many available atm... http://www.3dmovielist.com/3dhdtvs.html

Also, whats this 1080p talk? You don't ned 1080p to play in 3D. I play games in many different resolutons in 3D on my computer. You can play 3D in 800x600 if you want...10 bucks says your current CRT monitor supports it at that resoluton

Ahhh right. Didn't know much about the Avatar game. Thanks for the info.

If you need ANOTHER new TV to make use of this technology then it's not going to help BR in the least. The fact that people had to upgrade for BR slowed down its adoption a lot.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

i dont think that a single movie can bump sales much, most people saw it at Cinema's already, so not all of em will buy the BD/DVD.

I'm a Foreigner, and as such, i am grateful for everyone pointing out any mistakes in my english posted above - only this way i'll be able to improve. thank you!

I for one am going to buy it on Blu-ray, it was brilliant. 3D-Tv's can wait for me tho, I can't afford to upgrade until another 5 years time, still paying for my HD-TV lol.

it's the future of handheld

If i have to wear 3D glasses over my prescription glasses or wearing contacts, then no thanks to 3D.

Avatar did great at the box office but not amazing as it was hyped to be. I think the movie(s) that could significantly boost Blu-ray sales will be the Star Wars series.

unfortunately it is awkward to wear them over glasses, my bf was not best pleased lol^^

The movie is 2.5 hours long and it can be only played in digital cinemas in 3D... No one wants to see it in 2D trust me. This movie will have huge legs. Not to mention it did 160 mil first week worldwide outside of America.

Yeah it did quite amazing.
