I think I've got that beat. I've had my Playstation 3 for over 3 years now and I haven't had to pay anything for online service. It must be some sort of glitch because all of my friends are getting the PSN for free too. I purchased my PS3 at a Walmart also, so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it. Well, congratulations anyway for only spending $20 this year.
