-Mafoo, i don't even know what you mean. If only you could detail exactly what is wrong with the USA today, and why an 80 year old sexist and racist political system was better in your view.

Some of it is political beliefs about how a country should be run, but most of it is just based on horrific incompetence at the top (and this is any party of late).

Not to drag this into a huge political debate, but the single biggest issue I see with the US right now, is income vs. expense. For the last 60 years or so, we have been spending money at a rate we could not sustain. The way we got away with it, was raising GDP. Yea, we ran up a huge debt, but each year we made so much more money than the last year, we could feed that dept.

Those years are over, and yet we still spend like we are living in them. Right now, as a nation, we need to cut spending by 1/3, and if we did that, it would be a good start. What do we do? We double spending, and put us on a course to spend that way for years.

In the end, we will have to print a lot of money to get out of this. What that means, is the 80K a year I make today, in 10 years will have the spending power of 60K. I do not want to spend the rest of my life in decline because the people I in trust to maintain my country are grossly incompetent to do so. Being I have no power to replace the people in my government with people who know what they are doing, then next best thing is to replace the government that resides over me.

Someone made a comment about me not wanting to pay taxes, and that’s completely wrong. I pay over 40K a year in taxes, and would not mind paying that money if I thought it went to what it should go to. I would guess 5K of that 40K is well spent, and the other 35K is pissed away. I work hard for that money, and the people I in trust that effort with (my government), needs to do a better job with it.

So I don’t hate America, I am just tired of working for them. If the Australian government will do a better job with my effort, I would be much happier giving it to them.

And I am serious by the way. I am planning on moving somewhere that is not on a path for total failure.

I am not moving there :) It seems to be overcast and humid most of the time. Not interested in living in that climate :)

I refuse to give up in America. One of the great things about this country is that the constitution allows us to change the leadership up every couple years. We just need MORE people like Mafoo who, no matter what I feel about his beliefs, cares enough to get out and stamp around and make some noise. We can do that here, but we can't afford to just lose people who care!

Is it because of the mythical leppers?

@Common. One of the main problems with that great thing about your country is that you have two choices, so when you kick one shitty government out you end up with the other shitty government in. You never get to vote smaller parties into coalition when you lose faith in the big parties, it really balances out far better and makes the big parties less bloated and corrupt. Its disadvantage is you end up with some rather unstable coalitions occasionally.

Politically I believe that Australia does have a far better system (PR is flawed, but nowhere near as flawed as what you have).

Oh, those mythical leppers (sic) spreading their magical leprosy to all.

Ireland pops to the top of your list concerning economics? Lol, you see the state they're in?

Unfortunately though apparantly you can contract mystical tuberculosis and be saved from ever contracting mystical leprosy. I would try it out but I already had my TB shot.

But, we do have the structure in place to blow the 2 party system open, and grass roots campaigns can actually make a difference. My hope is that enough Mafoo's out there get sick and tired of th bi-partisan crap that has run this damned country for way too long (both of the big parties suck, no doubt) that they do somthing about it. I can hope right?
