I enjoy Christmas despite being atheist.
I look at it as simply a time to have a bit of fun, relax and hang with the family.

It is very true. Even all the Christians I know (myself included) and all the churches I've attended acknowledge that the time of the year was likely early Spring. I forget the explanation of why we still celebrate it on the 25th December, but it is no secret among Christians that the date is technically wrong.
I love Christmas! We're atheists and do it solely for the family get together/celebration. I get to see relatives I ONLY see on that day, and we exchange gifts :3
You don't have to enjoy the religious aspect to enjoy the holiday. I mean, Santa and Rudolph have nothing to do with the religious aspect, but are primary figures for the holiday.

I can explain, but it's very long and boring.
They basically chose this date to coincide with a pagan celebration.
Here's a more detailed explanation:

Yeah, the only thing I could remember was that it did have Pagan influence.
I don't care one bit about its origins or later meanings, but I like days off, presents and good food, so I like it.
