I can't really speak on the tech since that's not my area, although it seems like Natal is more advanced.

The big thing to me is software. MS seems to really be pushing Natal to devs and it seems like they are hopping on board. PS Eye seems to be dead and it feels like Sony never really tried to push it or little to no devs were willing to jump on board.

I don't know about you, but I'm not going to buy into any of this Natal / Gem crap until someone develops an entire Mo-Cap studio in a box and sells it for $100.

also, if you add the software showed with Milo then you have a sort of "IA" that can react to your own voice/order/question

what is true is that you can imagine Sony eye toy could match Natal in some area but both "controllers" will have some specificities.

milo was later revealed to be staged.

the "virtual human" was programed and was not reacting to what the "human" said or did

but rather it was more like the "human" was reacting to the "virtual human" was saying and dooing.
