You can easily defeat the red dragon in world 1-2 by buying around 400 arrows, getting to the top of the first tower of the bridge section and shooting him over and over again. Takes about 20 minutes or more but once he is dead he don't come back. Then the way through to tower knight is MUCH easier.

Anyway DS is meant to be hard, wait til you get to world 4-2 (Old Hero level) and you'll know the true meaning of pain.

400 arrows? That's....extreme o.o You can easily beat him with 110 (150 to be sure, in case you miss some) with the Compound Long Bow and 15 Dexterity.

Also, if he's just starting the game, 400 arrows is just too steep a price for him, since even at the vendor in 4-1, each is sold at 5 souls, making that 2000 souls. In Bodwin's store at the nexus it's even pricier

Me loosing 50k-100k souls is common. I remember once I lost 460k souls by falling in the same hole two times in the row.

and btw the Tower Knight as a boss its nothing, very easy...go hide up and kill him with arrows, I killed him on my first visit. Reserve your nerves for later. 1-4 boss is an example

Well I was counting on the fact that he probably still has a low dex and most basic bow as it sounds like he has only just started the game. You can grind souls quite quickly to get arrows by repeatedly starting world 4-1 and defeating a couple of enemies - then go back and buy as many arrows as you can (so you don't accidentally lose all your souls by dying). Rinse and repeat.

How bout lossing 1.5m souls......god I remember I stoped playing for 3 days to cool off.

OT: I'll probly be playing...also any1 know how to get pure clear stone?

Only way I know of getting pure clearstone is to complete all the Ostrava side quests in 1-1 to 1-3 without him dying.

I know, but even the Compound Short Bow is easy to find, it's on the perch of the first tower in 1-2.
(I made a mistake on my first post, I confused the CSB with the CLB xD)

Even by starting the game, the lowest dexterity he has to have to use bows is 10, which would only make a 1 point damage difference in the dragon, so even then, a maximum of 200 arrows will be required.

I know that you can farm souls like that, but the farming in 4-2 is even easier, just go through the archway, go to the perch above the Reaper enemy, fire a few arrows, and boom, instant 9K souls xD.
In NG+, coupled with the Silver Bracelet + Ring of Avarice + Soul Thirst Spell, I got 24K souls easy xD.

Alternatively, my main farming source was the Black Phantom Black Skeleton in Pure Black 4-2, using all those items, plus SoulSucker. 30K souls in less than a minute (49K if you kill the Reaper along the way).

Ostrava side quest??? WTF I had no idea about such thing....tell me how to do those.

- 1-1 find and save him inside the castle.

- 1-2 free him from the Dungeons under the Bridge

- 1-3 Save him from 3 (?) Red Eye knights
