Hope it stops soon well. Although global tension can be a bit exciting at times (I know, I have cold heart
) I dont think people understand what a 3rd World War would do to mankind in general.

I follow the idea that war is just another name for politics, for geopolitics / power/ access to resources.
Incidentally, this idea of winning is why I think we play sports, and video games for that matter.
I think it is something uniquely human. Only humans build death machines. Well... that's not true. Spiders do that too.
Birds build nests for their families and beavers build dams for their families and ants and bees build intricate palaces for their farms/hives, while evil spiders build death traps. They build webs and trap doors so they can paralyze their victims and suck all their blood. Sick evil shit.
I can't tell who's worse, spiders or humans. But only humans can justify dropping nuclear bombs on women and children, and claim it was necessary. Sick evil shit.
I really think all war comes from a lack of education and a lack of food, which leads to fear, which leads to a sense of jealousy/hatred/entitlement, and then anybody can tell you who to kill to get what you think you deserve. You can tell anybody who's uneducated and hungry that "those bad guys over there are the reason you're uneducated and hungry, go get them and everything will be better."

What makes humans unique from animals? And what unique qualities incline us to wage war?
I think it's important to remember war is considered fought between GROUPS. A free for all isn't really considered a war. War is also a combined effort. So that is why people point to things like ideology because it allows people, even if they aren't part of an official group with authority figures, to act almost like a group.
What makes us want to wage war against other groups? |
Animals do fight in a combined effort though.
Animals DO go to war.
Some even use very human like tactics.

I will sum up what I think.
Humans are the same animal they have been for the last 40,000 years. We wage war because it's the human thing to do.
There are 100 wars going on right now around the world, and they have nothing to do with capitalism, FNC, or hidden meaning.
You want a better world with no wars, build a better human.
Well, build a different human. Not sure it would be a better one.
