If you want to be able to race easily, not necessarily get the fastest times sub 1.42.00 on a controller i used traction control of 6 for more power,
1) when you are approaching a corner brake to a comfortable speed then turn the car around the corner whilst carrying decent speed and do not accelerate,
when your almost out of the corner you can start accelerating on the throttle gently the more you do this the you sooner you will be able to get on full throttle out of a corner
On A Wheel Controller i suggest on th Logitech G25 switching to Simulation Style as it is 1-1 movement, when i had standard or pro settings the wheel had a lag input/or something that was affecting my handling when i went to simulation settings on the wheel controller i spin out alot less, as my movements are not corrected by the wheel
Hope this Helps
My thoughts on lap times
My Fastest Time is 140.735
A Competitive time is 1.38 and below
An Average Fast Time is 1.44.8
The Fastest time at the moment i saw was 1.36.133
One more thing learn to be patient around corners, until you understand your car,
If you race in manual for a while it will help understand why you spin all the time when you race in Automatic the Computer likes to go to 1st gear in corners, in this gear it is very easy to spin your car,
when you race in manual im sure you will likely stay in 2nd gear in corners,
if you feel that your car is about to lose control immediately switch to 3rd gear, this helps stablize the car, you will lose time, but stay on the track.
I suggest you use manual and go around corners with a gear no higher than 2nd gear to get comfortable with turning immediately switch to third gear to stablize the car untill you actually know what your doing
, Once you learn how to repect the 1st gear the game will become much better for you
