Forums - Gaming - Which console has improved the most since its launch?

PS3. When it launched, and for the first eight months or so:

-$600
-Very few quality exclusives
-Few quality games of any sort, really.
-Highly inferior versions of multiplat games.
-PSN was laughably bad.

And now:

-$300
-Many quality exclusives
-Many quality games of all genres.
-Most multiplat games' differences between versions are miniscule and almost unnoticeable.
-PSN is a fantastic service, and still free.

That was a nice "before and after" and I agree. I would add "poor marketing strategies"(before) and "richer marketing strategies"(after).

The conclusion to draw is that the consumer has a much higher concept of the PS3. We are seeing it here in this forum, since a lot of posters are "voting" for the PS3.

PS3.

It launched with shocking online that is now not too far behind the Xbox 360's.

For a year you could have reasonably argued it had no good games, but now it has far more than the Wii.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I'd say both PS3 and 360, they have both improved so much since they both launched, they are both like different systems now.

ps3

Clearly PS3, at the launch exclusives were worse than the 360 ones and now it is the opposite.

Favourite Games:

PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Mototstorm PR, God of War III, Modern Warfare 2. Xbox: Suteki, Fatal Frame II DC, Jade Empire. 360: Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Dead or Alive 4.

First:

Xbox 360 20GB HDD without HDMI and with RRoD
+ Arcade games up to 50 MB
+ No VoD
+ no Avatars
+ blade system
+ no Games on Demand
+ no indy games
+ nobody expected it to get big franchises like Resident Evil 5, GTA, Final Fantasy, Tekken or DMC

Now:

Xbox 360 120GB HDD with HDMI and without RRoD
+ Arcade games now up to 2 GB
+ VoD (netflix)
+ Avatars
+ NXE
+ Games on Demand
+ indy games
+ Twitter
+ Facebook
+ Last.FM
+ Video Chat / Messages
+ Party Chat
+ Movie Party
+ Windows Live Messenger
+ Rate content on Xbox Live
+ we know that the Xbox 360 will get all the big franchises

I would say the PS3 made an improvement (even though I like the old version more, it looks better, but thats just me) but killing B/C was NOT an improvement. The "old" 60GB version seemed to be the best. That is what made me pick the Xbox 360.

The Xbox360 could need a redesign though. a Xbox 360 slim in a bundle with Natal would be AWESOME.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

PS3 no question, I went from laughing at it to owning one.

PS3 in 2006: No MGS4
PS3 in 2009: MGS4

Case closed.

that would be nice though i hope they don't try to rush one out like the first xbox360 models. otherwise it would be rrod all over again.

I actually liked perfect dark zero, more than halo 3 which i thought was meh tbh. Anywho most improved probly has to be ps3.
