the games shown using natal should have been so barebone and configured to work as smooth as possible, b/c all that was needed was very little content, but unfortunately, even this could not have been done well. It's going to lag. MS will spend more on this than it deserves, when they could have spent the $$$ on a handheld system and made something with potential to be more than a also-ran type of acessory, which every peripheral has been so far.

All we've seen so far for Natal were essentially tech demos on hardware which has already gone through several revisions and isn't used in current development.

I'd suggest waiting until E3 2010 before deciding that there's nothing worth looking at, as that will be very close to product release time.

i find it funny hoe ps3/360 fanboys bash the hell out of the wii for being "kiddy" and saying that you look like an idiot playing the wii by waving those wiimotes "or as they call them dildos" but yet waving your arms around and talking to a 12 year old kid isnt going to make you look stupid? if anything youll look even more idiotic playing natal than the wii. Also how are you going to play a shooter with natal? it works well with a wiimote how are you going to play a shooter with no controller and just all motion sensing? how are you going to move around are you gonna be jogging in place to move your guy? how are you going to reload, pick up weapons, scope in, drive and shoot vehicles? and shooting will feel very awkward because i think it will feel awkward shooting by pulling an imaginary trigger instead of a physical trigger.

I can say the exact same thing for racers, why would i want to play a racer with natal by pretending to steer a steering wheel with no steering wheel? im not gonna just steer thin air why not just get a steering wheel controller it beats the hell out of steering thin air. Im not denying that natal wont sell but its gonna be mediocore at best thats only going to work with just a few genres like mini games and shit.

and why the hell would i or anyone would want to talk to milo? If i want to talk to a virtual person i want to be a hot chick not some 12 year old kid.

You're quite right. From an industry perspective, Wii is one of the worst things to have ever happened.

Natal will be great and is a technological feat but how practical will it be?

Natal can be a HUGE hit or a HUGE miss. With that being said, it might be ahead of its time unless M$'s R&D side has been doing this for years. Look at the Dreamcast with consoles online. I don't see a full fledged FPS using it this early (I could be wrong). Despite the Wii motion controls' limitations, it seems to offer the right balance. Natal seems like it would be more demanding as more movements would be required for accuracy's sake. I don't see grandma and aunties that picked up the Wii using NATAL. Although I could see my old personal trainer (shit it's been 2 years now, but he owned a 360 last I checked) perhaps using this on some fighting type game or an exercise game.
M$ hasn't given much info so it would be safer to take a wait and see stance.
