You know a 360 game is looking when the Sony defense force is out in full strength. I knew the trailer was going to be good I had no idea it was going to be this good.

Well, the trailer does look good. You can't blame people for their feelings though, when the visulas were hyped by Microsoft to exceed PS3 exclusives.

I'm just enjoying some of the reactions from some of the more...biased sony fans.  Let's face it we've had three threads created about the halo:reach trailer, all by Sony Defense Force, god forbid a thread get started about how good the trailer looked.

I, the OP, am a massive Halo fan. Don't judge people just because they said something against a 360 game :)

of course you are a massive Halo fan, of course you are, of course, without even owning a 360 =/.

sorry man but you are a bad lier - of course your UC2 avatar and KZ2 sig makes you even more believeable. of course. nice try.

I own a 360, never liked Halo 3 or ODST and i am looking forward to Halo Reach. Why? easy! the trailer was awesome and the game seems very promising. i hope the gameplay keeps up with the awesomeness of the trailer.

2010 is going to be the best year in gaming history! Reach, ME2, GOW3, GT5, HR, Rage, Alan Wake, Brink, Crysis 2, FIFA 11, PES 11, new NFS and many many many other games =).

How on earth would you know that I don't own a 360? I definitely own one (died on me) and I'm planning to get my second one around the time Halo: Reach releases...just because I haven't written down my gamertag on vgchartz doesn't mean I don't own the damn machine!

you said in your first post that you may buy a 360 - nothing about your 360 dying.

anyway it seems we are almost the same. in my case the PS3 died and i may rebuy it next week or in jaunuary! :D

LOL the point is, I love both consoles...I'll admit though that I can't stand the Wii or even game on the PC

This game is going to cause many in the Halo Hater's Fan Club to blow their stack...

Yep :)  And i'm gonna love watching them attempt to justify their hate.

One thing is for sure: This game will not only sell millions of copies, but also sell many consoles for Microsoft!

I keep seeing people say that from a technical standpoint Reach's engine won't be a spectacle. Honestly KZ2 and Uncharted 2 are still far behing the Halo 3 engine in certain aspects while being far ahead in others. Yes Reach won't be the greatest "looking" game ever in terms of textures and just overall graphical appearance. However it will still be FAR ahead of almost any engine to date on consoles in terms of raw processing power for onscreen action and enemy numbers. There are more enemies and vehicles displayed in one chapter of Halo 3 than the entire Kz2 and UC2 campaigns combined. Litteraly.

I agree completely.  The section where you have to take down two scarabs comes to mind.  There are two massive scarabs waling around that has enemies, turrets on it, and a massive beam weapon, banshees flying around, UNSC aircraft that the players can control, ghosts on the ground, wraiths on the ground, enemy ground units on the ground, friendly marines running around, and all this while 4 people can play split screen or online.  All in a massive environment.  Plus, the game is recording every piece of game data for later viewing.

Exactly. That scene in particular from a technical standpoint is incredible honestly. Just imagine the kinds of things you'll see in Reach. Driveable Scarab anyone? But yes I'm sure KZ2 and UC2 will win the "screenshot war" against Reach but to me if the final game looks like that trailer did and does as large of environments, enemies, vehicles, and large scale battles as halo 3 all while keeping 4 player on one xbox splitscreen its a far more impressive engine.

there is a take.

16 players VS 32 players.

and kz2 firefights are epic, with destructible enviroments.

Kill Zone 2 graphics isn't exactly all that its hyped out to be! Metal Gear real-time graphics is very very good & so is Uncharted 2, and ONE of the best released in the industry, not the BEST as some fanboy's like to hype ridiculously. But I think many previous graphically insane games will quickly get over shadowed with some of the titles being prepared for 2010.

You cannot compare Reach to Killzone 2.

Despite what people here may think, KZ2 was "saved" by it's art direction. The textures are very low res and blurry, the game is monochrome, the environments aren't very expansive for the most part, they even talked about enclosing areas as the only way to get all the memory for textures and lighting to work. What made it work and look great was the art direction they did, which took maximum advantage of the characteristics of the engine, being heavily stylized.

Halo: Reach, on the other hand, from the leaked details of the article, seems to be "Battlefield: Halo". This is something the KZ2 engine or the old H3 engine cannot possibly do because it means huge maps with huge battles, lots of players, AI, and vehicles at once. It also doesn't look as distinct (even though the Halo style is very recognizable) because it's not as stylized as KZ2.

Different engines, different philosophies, for difference purposes. An engine isn't made to do everything, even Unreal Engine games are heavily modified depending on it's purpose. The KZ2 engine can't do what Reach / Battlefield do, and vice versa.
