Actually Crowe is playable in the PS3 version, it has been confirmed...nice wishful thinking though.

Perhaps its because hes... upset? im jus' sayin... infact i was upset myself knowing that PS3 will get the better end of the golden stick, til' i finally maned up and decided jus' to buy it again at full price like a true fan of the series would. thats the benefit of owning both HD systems... though without one or the other ... you can understand the obvious frustation of knowing a game you own will have more content on another console you dont own...

Which actually makes me kinda' worry about Versus XIII...

meh more characters to a mediocre game who cares. the more time goes by since i last played the game the more i realize how mediocre it was.

Why are you worried about Versus XIII? it's not going to the 360 or any other platform so there's no chance of them remaking it with more content.

As a dual-HD console owner, i actually dont care... however... never say never this gen of gaming, i expected SO4 to go to PS3 eventually when all my 360 owner gamespot buds doubted me... i got a hold of them and they tried lying saying they knew it would go eventually to, but not with new content exclusive to PS3 and certainly not this EARLY, its out even before Tales.

So technically SO4: I ... is exclusive to PS3 in its own right, its not the same game as the last hope in general aspect... and Versus XIII is so unknown who knows whats in store at this point, i no longer care to be honest, jus' wanna play it already.

Star Ocean transcends console pettiness. I would own both versions regardless of whether I own those platforms or not. Take a look at my username and signature and take a wild guess as to why.

There has been no evidence that there are new playable characters. tri-Ace has never mentioned it, and the only reference I can find from Square Enix is a blurb from the EU site that has long since been removed. When I confront the people spreading these myths, I don't get evidence. I get attitude. They take personal offense from the thought that the PS3 isn't getting the almighty version, so instead of proof I end up with crap about my "agenda" and other silly accusations. But not once does anyone actually back up their shit.

I've studied the international version because it's Star Ocean. I've seen the trailers, I've seen the screens, I've investigated the official site. There is not a single shred of evidence that any of the 'new' characters are actually playable. The game comes out in a week. Are you honestly telling me that they added FOUR new characters and not a single one is paraded in promotional materials? Isn't this counter-productive? This is the exact opposite of what happens with Star Ocean. Any time a new character is added to a new version of one of the games, it's made pretty clear. Mirage and Adray were pretty clearly kicking asses on the SO3DC site. Welch was in several screens for the SO1/2 PSP versions. I don't see Crowe, Elyna, Welch or Giotto fighting it out in any single screenshot or frame of footage in SO4i. And until I do, I stick by what I said: there are no new playable characters.

Get mad about it. Throw a tantrum, call me whatever if you have to. But I'm right and you're wrong, kay?

I'm buying it, but I don't know when I'll get around to playing it.  I already played it on the 360 so am in no hurry with White Knight Chronicles and FFXIII both releasing soon.
