People stupid... government steps in.
Kind of stuff I hate.
Well... if it makes you feel better... the senate just spent time drafting a resolution that says college football can't use the term "National title game" or "National title" unless it establishes a playoff system.
Because of... I don't know monopoly or anti-trust reasons... something weird.

Where did the "ban" bit come from? Surely the better comparison would be to make people talk quietly and read minature newspapers?

As much as its absolutely true that many people listen to music too loud, I honestly couldn't care less if they ruin their hearing.
Bullshit, I'l listen to my music however I want thanks.
And headphones affect this far too much for there to be a strict 'limit.' If you buy a bog standard set of £10 headphones chances are you will listen to your music at a far higher volume than if you had a good £50 set of headphones - obviously because the clarity and bass is far better on the better headphones so you dont need to turn the music up as loud to hear the details.
go and sort out osme more important stuff ,EU...

"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"
"England expects that everyman will do his duty"
"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

im pro-EU, but this idea is just plain stupid, let people listen to what they want and what volume they want.
ok...i dont know how loud this is...but if people are too stupid to not harm themselves then something should be put in place. its like providing care for mentally handicapped people. not doing something would also increase costs on EU healthcare having to assist these near deaf people, so its understandable from that view as well.
"I like my steaks how i like my women. Bloody and all over my face"
"Its like sex, but with a winner!"

I think that maximum safe level would be good thing to implent in mp3 players. However if user wants he should be able to use higher volume.
Plus I don't want my tax money spent on idiots damaging their own health.

Wait, is the OP trying to say this is a bad thing?
I don't want to listen to you shitty music while in public. Seriously, people that turn their music up so loud in public places that you can hear the words clearly are as annoying as the dumbasses that fill their cars with giant basses so everyone in 100 feet can feel their music.
Get a life.
