Forums - PC - i have the windows 7 installtion disk right in front of me =[

i have win7 and i cant install the damn thing....its not compatible with my netgear wireless internet adapter =/....it will be compatible in a month though =D...but i have to wait a month, so this sucks lol *no i dont want to get a new adapter, and no i dont want a 100ft long cable from my computer to my modem lol*

 

any compatibility problems with you guys?

I think his point is if he were to install 7, his computer wouldn't be able to wirelessly connect to the internet because his current router hasn't had drivers released to make it compatible with 7 yet.

 

(I don't think regular install requires internet unless you want to activate it over the internet during the installation process).

I wasn't aware that wireless drivers that worked on Vista wouldn't work on Win7. That makes no sense. How do you know they are incompatible?

i looked it up on the netgear website, it might be compatible and they dont know it yet, but i dont wanna take any chances and be without internet for a week lol

There is no reason for the driver not to work under 7 if it worked before. Also you can always reinstalll Vista if needed. Also you can run XP Compat mode to use the internet off of 7 (if you have Pro).
