Forums - Gaming - Demo Impressions Dante vs. Bayonetta

Both the Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno demos are up. Here are my impressions of them.

Dante's Inferno:

-I was really looking forward to this game. Viseral studios made Dead Space which I liked because of the amazing atmosphere. I was hoping they would take what they knew in Dead Space and create an epic journey through hell. Needless to say, my expectations were high. Then I played the demo.

-They used cartoon story board animations to run through some of the story elements and I thought they were the high point of the demo. It was something I haven't seen in a while, and they really fit the tone of the game.

-The action was really fun, with fluid animations.

-Instead of being able to move the camera, the right joystick lets you jump in different directions. Some people might be hard on the game because of this since it takes some time to get familiar with it.

-The story in the demo felt really sloppy. It's just a demo so I shouldn't expect much... but it jumped all over the place and felt really unpolished. I didn't like the transitions between worlds.

Bayonetta:

-My first impressions was that you play a MILF. There's a lot of nice quirky small things, like at some moments she'll pose, that make the demo feel really polished. There's a ton of combo moves, although, you can really just run around in circles and shoot at the enemies as long as you jump at the right moments.

-The MILF is similar to Venom, but when she uses her suit she becomes naked, although I haven't been able to see much.

-The action is fun and fast paced. They really must have fixed the issues with the game that is supposedly had.

-There wasn't really any story but it wasn't needed for the demo. The first thing I noticed is how cool the world was, and the great art style for the creatures in the game. It looks like it potentially has an epic story... although I'm not sure what that is.

Bayonetta vs. Dante's:

In terms of the demos, Bayonetta wins.

I'm hoping the Dante's demo suffers from the fact that it's a demo and the final game will be much more polished.

What did you think??

Around the Network

I preordered Bayonetta the day after I played the demo.

Dante isn't out on 360 yet but I hope that its as good so I can preorder that too.

played both... will buy both, but dantes inferno will only be my training for gow 3... bayonetta is a game in its own right

Bayonetta seems modeled after DMC I feel right at home.

Dante's inferno is modeled after GOW which i loathe.

Bayonetta>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Dantes Inferno

Around the Network

At the risk of being a troll I'd have to say GOW 3 is awsome
the demo of that game is classic
GOW set a formula that worked I won't bash on Dante because of the exlusive feature and i am waiting 5 min on my ten min download but I'll take a lot for me to be surprised.

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!

Dantes Inferno> Bayonetta

God of War style hack and slash is just so much better, its ludicrous. Looking forward to Dante's Inferno based off of demo, not looking forward to Bayonetta based off demo. And that's taking into account Dante's Inferno was far inferior to what I played in the God of War E3 demo, THE DEMO FROM HALF A F**KING YEAR AGO!!!

bayonetta annoys me i hate the way she stands but i do like her better then dante

The way she stands is authentic.  Well at least to women with STD of some sort, which sort of fits her profile nicely.  You know sluts who sleep around and get pregnant and lose their kids to adoption.

im still downloading DI , but i really enjoyed Bayonetta espicially the soundtrack it reminded me of FFX.
