thats pathetic >_>

Well.. aslong as they dont start shuting down invite sites, i dont really care.

I've one word to say about this: good! Make piracy harder, and force people to actually buy things legit! Of course, I'm not under the delusion that it will go away completely (such is the ways of the internet), but the problems need to be pushed back underground, where Joe Shmoe can't do a google search and find several places offering it for free.

using public torrent sites for downloads is not a very good idea, unless you are downloading legally.

use nyaatorrents.org

Well, if it's good enough for the FBI to set its sights on... I'd think it has to be good. Ne?
(tbh, I have no idea how that stuff gets around. Didn't know it was rampant on piratebay)
Why do people even use torrents? They are way too slow, and quite dangerous legally. Now I'm not going to push toward piracy, but direct links from file sharing sites like megaupload and rapidshare are much more safe in these aspects as well as faster. For your French needs I recommend BUYING the Pimsleur audio CDs to supplement a class. They work wonders for your pronounciation and listening, though they aren't too good at teaching you grammar and obviously aren't good in written language. Still if you are taking a class they help a LOT. I was lucky enough to have a family member lend me theirs.
