Forums - Sony - Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time Discussion

I thought Till the end of was a great game. The story was interesting and had a very interesting plot twist. I liked most of the characters (I love Albel XD) and the battle system was great, it's one of my favourite systems next to the ones in Valkyrie Profile 2(another Tri-Ace masterpiece) and later Tales of games.
It had one of the worst mini-games ever though...Bunny racing...I hated that, and if I remember correctly you had to play it a lot to get some important item. Nothing that breaks the game though :)

There was one problem i had with the story - The story focused to much Elicoor War to point where I forgot there was bigger plot goin on, literally I forgot we were suppose to finding a way of Elicoor to save everybody the Vendini was holding hostage and I kept on forgetting till the Sophita look alike should up..then I was like " ooooo yea I forgot about her!!!"

What a coincedence, I just got it today.
Played around 2 hours of it and I'm liking it so far

^ dude the beginning is very long have patience

It's one of the worst RPGs I've played on the PS2, even worse than Magna Carta. I'll expand on this later on today; I have to study for the finals.

Well since I'm liking it there is no reason to stop it, lol.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum. The battle system was the only good thing about the game.
The pacing was horrid and enemies went from ridiculously easy to WTF (approaching 4d world).

Wth happenened to Fayt, Maria and the other girl's (sophia or something) powers. They were hyped so much and rarely used for anything not even to defeat the final boss, not as battle skills, absolutely nothing. At least the last girl got them into 4d, thats about it. Fayt took down the vendeeni ship by accident and never used his power again. Maria's was only ever used as a "demo". To surmise, the story was horribly underwhelming and the endings were even worse.

All together, I expected more but was disappointed. The only fun thing was souping up to battle the secret bosses especially freya. Even that was more trouble than it should've been because the battle system wasn't well done thanks to terrible AI. Battles were still fun though when they weren't frustrating.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

I'm thinking of getting Star Ocean 4 when I'm done with the first, even though it gets a lot of hate. I mean, if you're a fan of the series, it can't be that bad, can it?

Oh yea, since there are some Tri-Ace fans around, how is Radiata Stories?
It looks interesting, but the reason I really want to try is Iwadare Noriyuki
