Forums - Sony - Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time Discussion

Lets talk about Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time. I feel this was a fantastic game with an amazing storyline and an awesome battle system. My problem is that many people feel that Star Ocean 3 has a bad story and I just don't understand that. What was so bad about it? I understand the voice work in SO3 was pretty damn bad but I don't think it took away from the epicness of the storyline. I also feel that the "certain plot twist" that happened in SO3 was one of the most surprising and original plot twists I've ever seen in a jrpg. What are your thoughts about this?

I loved the game. One of my favorites. It and Final Fantasy X are the only games where I keep playing it even after I've beat it.

Star Ocean: Til the End of Time has eaten over 200 hours of my life. I once played it for 32 hours and 27 minutes straight a few years ago.

Well, to me, Till the End of Time is the best game in the series, by far.

It has the best story, the best battle system, and has a massive amount of content to keep any RPG love content for a long, long time.
Haven't seen much hate for it in here though, so I would like to see people's complaints about it as well.

Yes it does have a ton of content. I like the fighting game that is tucked away deep in the game.

Do you guys what want me to preach out tri-Ace and hidden greatness of thier games that gamer could not understand... or do already kno my thoughts on the beloved game?

I really wanted to enjoy it, but I failed at the battle system, to the point where I couldn't progress any further because I'd always die.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

this game is in my top 5 RPG on the PS2:
1- DQ VIII
2- FF X
3- Suikoden 3
4- SO3
5- Valkyria profile 2

G-value, i dont know why the hate for the story either, i think that it was fantastic, and the plot twist made me site in chock and we,,, i mean really ??? Truly unexpected plot twist,,
the graphics were gorgeous and the draw distance was great for an early Ps2 game,,,, the soundtrack was great, the fighting system addictive and fun, and the side quests were fantastic (hello Lenneth),,,
i think the 100 % map clearance was a nice addition especially with the desintegration ring

Fantastic epic game,, which makes me super mega ultra excited for SO4, which i hear is a lot similar tho SO3, nice

The battle Arena was pretty sweet, and it took me a hell of a long time to actually get the S ranking on both Solo and Team battles.

But to me, the most important single aspect of the game was Item Crafting...I lost count on how many hours I spent on it xD

SO3 is fav PS2 JRPG and probably game...it was long, epic, cram packed, sometimes challenging ext.... Other being hater theres NO reason for SO3 not to be in everybodies top 10 PS2 JRPGs..hell I say top 5 but thats just me

@Xxain

I understand what you mean. SO3 is in my Top10 PS2 games, Top5 RPG's as a whole. But there will always be haters for games, I think it's an inevitability on this forum :P
