Forums - Gaming - Will the sales gap for the next GTA game be as large as it was for GTA 4?

CGI to be fair I think you think people are angry or "serious" because they don't post after every post.

I'm sure they're just voicing their opinions like everyone else ..

Just my take!!!

Wow, I just came home from work to see that my thread started a flame war, didn't mean to do that at all :P

A game like GTA is traditionally considered a Playstation franchise. The 360 had a considerable edge over th PS3 in the Western world, but it only outsold the PS3 version by a mere 1.3 million units.
The next GTA game will sell more on the PS3 when the install bases of both systems are closer.

themanwithnoname entered in here with negativity, as usual. That's all I ever see him doing. "Spin"? I didn't get that, and agreed with him that the gap between the two was substantial enough to take note. What's funny is, they got defensive over Carl's post about the numbers for 2009. Why, I have no idea.

So in truth, their opinion wasn't that different than mine, although I don't agree with some of their words regarding the matter. They just chose to see what they wanted to see either way. Oh well.....

I entered in with a logical argument, just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I'm promoting "negativity" as you like to think. I'm not aware of the rule that says we have to agree on everything. Of course, any argument I try to make gets labeled as me being defensive.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

so... the saying "Spin it however you want it guys." is now a logical argument? A logical argument would have been something like this. " I think it is a pretty big gap, and this is why ...." But no, you didn't do that did you? You came in with negativity which is just what CGI pointed out.

Yeah, sure it is. I've already given my argument in both styles, please do try to keep up.

I think you read only sections of posts. For the last time, I AGREE with you that Microsoft is the victor here. Why not revert back to my first post in here. Then you, hopefully, realize just how silly this has all been. I don't agree with some of your ways in threads, as I'm sure you don't agree with mine. But on this issue, however, I've agreed with you and you have refused to see it.

This may be true, but I don't recall when I ever called you out in a thread for it.

^^ And that's good for you, not a bad investment. But PS3 owners are obviously fine with their version, so I don't see the big deal either way.

I'm glad they are happy with just GTA 4. It's a great game!

We are patient, I could get Tales of Liberty City now if I wanted, but I am patient to wait for R*, who have basically never released an exclusive game

I have NEVER heard any PS3 fans complain either way about that DLC. Seems he's the only one concerned about iy.

Yeah, that's just from your experience. Many of my PS3 friends complained about it. You know what they did then? Came over my house and played the DLC packs. Two of them did actually buy a 360 because of this though.

Well, it hasn't stopped the PS3 version from doing good. Guess it wasn't that big a deal.

Correct, but it didn't perform as well as the 360 in the long run.

Then why is it being outsold currently BY the PS3 version?

Why does that matter? It is formerly a playstation franchise that's doing better on the 360 (compare last gen sales to this gen). I think that's impressive. Also, it's pretty clear that they're making more money on the DLC as GTA IV is under $40 new now and the EFLC disc is about to pass GTA IV sales. That's not counting the people who just downloaded both episodes. You guys can try and turn this into a moral victory for the PS3, but that's not pertinent to this topic and being rather silly.

Well, considering that I've said from the get-go that this was a victory for Microsoft, you don't know what you're talking about. Furthermore, the ones being silly are the ones who have been defensive over nothing, and you should know that since you've been on the frontlines of defense since you got in here.

My advice: don't take this stuff so personally all the time. You express anger and rage in most threads you go into. Good day.

He's not expressing anger, nor is he expressing rage. He's stating what he wants to. You seem the one to be taking offense, especially when you noted before "that what I said was insulting."

* facepalm *

I was defensive because I was reminding you that you were insulting? You seem to have a guilty conscience over it.

Also, he expresses anger in many of the threads he visits. Whether you choose to ignore, oh well, but I'm calling what I see. However, we're off-topic. If you want to continue this debate, PM me. Otherwise, let's get back to the topic.

First off, it wasn't offensive. How do I have a guilty conscience over it lol? It doesn't bother me, but it bothers you. No, he doesn't express anger, just statements. Nothing wrong with that. You seem to be the one taking offense to everyone stating things against your opinion.

What's my opinion exactly? That GTA IV performed better on 360 - yup. That the PS3 version has better legs - yup. Tell me, what is there to be taking offense to? That you said the "smarter gamers" got it on 360? I could careless. I didn't say what you said insulted ME per-se. It was insulting though, in general, but as I said to you earlier, it wasn't that big a deal. The fact that you KEEP bringing it up is telling. Just drop it.

Like I said, PM me or something. I will not be answering you any further in here regarding this issue.

If you could "careless" on what I said, then why did you comment on it in the first place? It must have invoked something inside of you? "The fact that you KEEP bringing it up is telling." Well, same goes for you CGI-Quality.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

Um, actually no it's not. Try being less slow?
